Going to first regionals and need advice

By Tailsgod, in X-Wing

In reality it's my first tournament

So I am a bit nervous

It's not until May but I figured I'd ask for some advice here

I'm taking my once every generation list

Vi Hera with navigator

Vi wedge with bb-8 and intergrated

And VI Poe with R5-P9 Autothrusters

Edit: whole list comes in at 97 points

Also Hera has an autoblaster turret on her

practice practice practice. Be completely comfortable with your list. Fly it every week.

^ This.

Also, know your list very well.

I am in a similar boat, going to my first regional in May. I am planning to make a nerfed version of my list so I can practice my list and have the odds stacked against me. (e.g replace Poe or Wedge with a turretless Hwk or Y-wing to represent losing a ship in an alpha strike. Alternatively, drop an ace to a generic or drop key upgrades and replace them with useless ones). Remember, easy victory is a poor teacher.

Also, Hera can't take VI

Also, play with the biggest rocks, if you opponent is cool with it, play with extra rocks!

What advice are you asking for?

Make sure you have everything you need to play, tokens, ships, dice. Double check. I went to a store championship and forgot my dials! Luckily one of the store employees loaned me his.

Bring just enough for your squad. You don't need to be packing a ton of stuff you're not going to use.

Get some kind of tray. Helps tremendously to move your squad between games.

Bring some bottled water and snacks. You might not need them, but you'll be glad if you do need them.

Watch online vids of X-Wing matches. Pay attention to how each player manuvers, chooses targets, etc.

And #1. Practice! Practice with your list. Practice with lists you're likely to face, if you can.

Have fun. Be realistic in your expectations. This year will be my 2nd regional, and while I'm aiming to win, I know that I'm going up against players with much more experience.

But i don't think there will be a lot of people there so I'm hoping to at least get the alt art Hera card
