Detective's hand size

First of all, please tell me if it's possible to filter search results!

I tried to see if someone else has already placed my question below, but got too many potential results.

How many Twilight cards can a detective keep in his hand? 6 (7 for Raymond)?

I didn't find a clear statement except for

"a player with fewer than six twilight cards in his hand (or fewer than seven , in Raymond’s case) may draw either one light card from his light deck or one dark card from any other player’s dark deck "

Sounds to me pretty clear. If you have fewer than six (seven), you may draw one, thereby raising your hand size to six (seven), which is the maximum.

From a logical point of view, that statement doesn't mean you can't have more than 6/7 cards. It just states when you can draw more cards.

If the hand size have been 10, that statement would mean you couldn't draw more cards till you dropped below 6/7.

I agree with you as the hand size should be 6/7, but it's not necessary so.

I'm a bit concerned about this as well, and it would be nice to hear an official voice chime in.

In the part of the rules about drawing cards for time it says you can only do so if you have less than 6/7 and in the section about drawing a free light/dark card when you enter a ritzy/seedy location it also mentions only being able to do so if your hand is not "full."

Then, in Raymonds article, posted tonight, it mentions that bad things can happen if his hand is "full."

I may be jumping to conclusions, but I'm assuming there may be cards that allow one to draw more cards...

And yet, as far as I've seen, the rules never say "You can never have more than 6/7 cards in your hand! Ever!" So... it's a little problematic/confusing.

Your hand max is 6 cards (7 if you are Raymond). You cannot exceed this, ever.

Thanks for the official answer, Kevin! I'm planning on playing Android for the first time tonight, so I'm trying to figure out everything I can, even though I'm sure there will still be questions that arise. There always are with my group. :)

I think the "fewer than 6 cards wording" is to make clear that if your hand if full with 6 cards, you are not entitled to draw a card (temporarily have 7 cards) and discard down to 6 cards. If you already have 6 cards, you cannot draw a card, period.

I was playing a game earlier tonight, and had a full hand as Raymond. Some card came up, I have no idea which one, that told each player to draw 2 Dark cards of the player to their left. What happens in that situation. Do you just not draw cards, or can you draw and replace to keep at the hand limit size?

You don't draw. Tough luck.
