Pack your bags, you`re going to Miramar(your best30pt. non unique small base)

Black Sun Ace (khilrazx)

-Hotshot Blaster

-Munition Failsafe

Go ahead, burn your actions arcodging... you're just making it easier to hit you.

Gand Findsman with Advanced Sensors and Outlaw Tech. Solid PIlot Skill, tough ship and it should knife fight nicely. A Blue B-Wing with Advanced Sensors, Plasma Torps, Extra Munitions and Guidance Chips might also be worth a punt, I'd prefer a Dagger for the better Pilot Skill but you have to loose the Extra Munitions.

I think Royal Guard'd be very strong in this format.

I agree. PS 6 with AT, PtL, SD and that dial will be a monster, especially if you go one-on-one where it doesn't need to worry about other ships flanking it.

I say you try and make this a 2v2 or 3v3 format that way it doesn't devolve into just K-Turning repeatedly. It also seems much more fun with teamwork involved.

Or have it as a 90 point format where you run three non-unique ships with no unique upgrades, all of which are 30 points, only internal faction restrictions, can't use the same upgrade twice.

F14/D with inertial dampeners (airbrake), engine upgrade (afterburners), advanced sensors, and AIM-54 Phoenix missiles.

The more I think about it the more 30pts, small base, nothing unique, 1v1 looks to be about having an answer to the Royal Guard /in with the standard Soontir set-up. With nothing unique allowed you don't have a Stresshog to play with. A Blue B-Wing with Advanced Sensors, Flechette torps, E2 and tactician rocks in at 30 though and might well be able to catch the /in at range 2 for double stress. Lots to think about here I feel.

Just as an alternative to the standard Royal Guard build:

RGP: Predator, Hull Upgrade, Autothrusters

RGP counters that are solid against other stuff:

Black Sun Ace, VI, Homing Missile, Guidance Chips

Hired Gun, TLT, Proximity Mine, BTL-A4

Gand Findsman, VI, Tactician, FCS

Red Squadron Veteran, R2 Astromech, VI, Integrated Astromech

I'm sure there are plenty more.

29pts should let you take initiative against other PS2s.

Which means that you can ion+no action almost anyone so long as you can bring your tail to bear.

Notice that you're running unhinged. ;)

I think Royal Guard'd be very strong in this format.

You give me a RGP in this situation, I would choose stealth over hull, only here. Then never have a damage card assigned to me, even with K wings and turrets. They wouldn't be able to hit that solo.

Is Lone Wolf legal is this format?

Hmmm. I don't know. Sounds a little O.P.

Alternatively, Tansarii Point Vet with title, Mangler, Crack Shot, and Stealth Device. Be the smallest guy carrying the biggest gun.

If you fly this, you have to shout "ASSASSINATION!!!" anytime you get the killing blow.

As someone still learning the game I find it interesting that at this point level there are not too many options for the Imperials. It seems the Imperials want their generics to be cheaper and aces come just a little too expensive. Does this seem accurate or am I imagining it?

Although my first thought was the Red Vet load out listed by others above, I would also consider the standard Omega Lead, Juke, Comm Relay.

It just seems that giving up 4 pts. is quite a bit.

I expected this to be a thread about the San Diego Regionals which are held about as close to Miramar as one can get without actually going on base.

K turn all day!

If it were me, since I'm on a TAP kick right now, I'd take:

Baron of the empire 19

-title 1

-ptl 3

-autothrusters 2

-homing missile 5

30 points exact. I like the homing missile here for the potential early. On engagement you could boost for range, target lock (plus evade), and then the shot would ignore part of the turtling up that basically every opponent will be doing. Could kill an interceptor with a little bit of fickle greens. An a-wing wouldn't be happy. Whatever is left after, good luck keeping that TAP arc off you (green 1 turns man).

Call sign "minute man". Expect short games.

Assuming the "No Uniques" only applies to pilots, I give you the OP TIE Shuttle...gross.
