And not because it is April fool, but because I am new to the game, Soontir, with only 3 attack dice, is there any way to make him deal any real damage?? Or what is the point of him, just to fly around and not get hit, what am I missing?
Soontir question
He has great survivability for saying he only got 3 hull, has some of the best action economy in the game, ps9 so the classic moves first shoots last and 3 atk dice is gd especially when he arc dodges so he's not getting shot back, or backed up by a focus token and still able to have focus and evade plus autothrusters for defence, and thts before u add Palpatine into ur list
Stick a targeting computer on him and he's capable of throwing out some really consistent damage. Add that to the points Eibon has made and you have the reasons that he appears in so many imperial lists.
He's just a lot of fun to zoom around the board with. ![]()

Only...? Now do a quick scoop of the ships ingame that have native of more than 3 attack dice....
HINT: just 2. And both pay for those 4 attack dice with serious drawbacks.
You are missing that 3 attack dice are high-end fighters in xwing, and with proper modification those are pretty consistent 3 attack dice. Plus its not hard to get him in range 1.
"Only" 3 attack dice? Most ships has 2 or 3 attack dice in this game. There are only 2 ships with 4 dice (TIE phantom and Ghost), so 3 attack dice is fine. With push the limit, you can easily boost/barrel roll into range 1, get your free focus token and throw 4 focused attack dice.
Yeah, I flew a Soontir the other day and killed a lightly damaged YV-666 and eliminated a JM5K. I also had the Inquisitor (though he died) and a Palp shuttle to change some misses, but Soontir really carried the day on that fight. He was also never touched (thank you SD).
Well Thx for the pointers guys. Am still very i new to the game. So that's the reason for asking.
Just keep an open mind. Imperials like Fel are very high risk high reward types and extremely unforgiving if you make a mistake. It is quite common for Fel to explode in a single round of combat. The learning curve is high, but you'll end up on the other side with excellent piloting skills.

We all had beem there, dont worry
Back in my days i though 4 green dice was some inpenetrable superman-skin-quality defence
I can see you have not yet familiarized yourself with expansions so i suggest this link :http://xwing-miniatures.wikia.com/wiki/X-Wing_Miniatures_Wiki
Have a nice reading then you'll see that this "only" interceptor becomes THAT interceptor.
