Rebel Aces :: Poe, Arvel, Nera

By greymedium, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This is a casual squad, trying to use underused pilots (besides Poe). Looking for feedback on where you see weaknesses, and suggestions to correct them.

Poe does what Poe does, jousts around, recharges shields, and will become the primary target, most likely, at first. Arvel is there to bump, stop heavy hitters from firing/taking actions, and reduce their agility, as well as still be able to shoot with 3 attack. Nera can shoot APTs within 1 range, 360 degrees, twice with 5 attack dice, and then is a decent B-wing.

I have not run it yet, so no idea if this squad even works beyond theory. Thanks in advance.

I would maybe add chardaan refit to give the A-wing -2 and consider taking PTL off nera and putting in deadeye so you can spend a focus token, not a Target Lock to launch your missiles.

As the earlier post said, if you have the chardaan refit there's no downside to putting in on arvel. You can drop PTL and munitions failsafe off of Nera, (odds of not hitting with the APT seem kinda low). Add deadeye and the B-wing/E2 mod with recon specialist and you have a reliable way of shooting and modifing your APT. Advanced scopes on nera might be a good investment just so she can move first and get her actions.

You have a few options here. Deadeye is a good choice for most ordnance carriers, but Nera with APT is one of the few cases it might not be necessary. The range one limit on APT almost ensures that you'll he in range to TL on the turn you shoot the torps, and Rec Spec is only so-so for a B-Wing on its own. That said, although PtL is highly useful on a ship with barrel roll, it does restrict your dial in a way rec spec obviously won't.

Regardless, chardaan and autothrusters cancel each other points-wise and would fit neatly on Arvel as a package deal to help him live. If you don't have autothrusters, consider B1/E2 and Intel Agent to help you land your blocks.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I am going to go with this augmented list and se how it goes:

Poe Dameron (31)
R5-P9 (3)
Veteren Instincts (1)
Auto Thrusters (2)
Arvel Crynyd (23)
A-Wing Test Pilot (0)
Chardaan Refit (-2)
Intimidation (2)
Nera Dantels (26)
Enhanced Scopes (1)
Advanced Proton Torpedos (6)
Extra Munitions (2)
Deadeye (1)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Recon Specialist (3)
Total: 100 pts
Chardaan Refit, because, duh, can't believe i missed that. I like the Deadeye + Recon Specialist combo in this setup, as the APT turns blanks into focus rolls, and once those missiles are gone, it can help with defense into the late game.

What about guidance chips and fcs for Nera ...

Advanced Proton Torpedoes with a focus token in the bank? That's one of the few occasions where guidance chimps are overkill.

You can't have both B-Wing/E2 and Guidance Chips because they are both modifications.

I like your original list better for Nera.
