Agility Fragility

By Darth Meanie, in X-Wing Rules Questions

As an Imperial player, I find the game far more unforgiving than it should seem to be. I can almost immediately tell the turn that has dictated that I cannot win. Found this meta Op-Ed, wondering what others thoughts are:

But don't be too hard on yourself. I started as an imperial player though I play a little scum now, and I went a long time before even winning a game. It's true that imperials are unforgiving, but if you stick with it you'll end up with outstanding piloting skills.

At the end of it, it's just about having fun. In my eyes, a win is almost always good, but its the journey that makes it worth while.

So what was question again?

the best green dice are green dice you didn't have to roll entirely, that's the reason arcdodgers rule the hill right now

True, as a casual player only, it is about getting together to play the game, which means a lot of times I don't pay much attention to the meta. OTOH, I would hate to see X-Wing go the way of the old Decipher CCG, where "Mains and Toys" was the only way to play a game where you had any chance of winning. The low-ball generics need to have some validity in play. I realize FFG was trying to down-play the swarm tactic; I hope they didn't push things so far that they have invalidated the Empire's main strength and weakened that faction forever.

So what was question again?

"What are your thoughts." But I got them in the other thread.

Very true. But if you are not rolling because rolling offers no hope, then that's the issue.

not rolling brings no hope, rolling is a hope itself, hope for a good roll.

That's why deci is epitome of dull pessimism and doom-inspired damage eating.
