SNAKE BLING THROWING

By Homme Chapeau, in UFS Deck Building

A long long time ago in a forum far away, there used to be regular ShadoWar story updates. I used to be pretty critical of these stories until the Padma/Lu Chen match-up where it was discovered that Padma throws snake jewelry that turns into real snakes. I commented on this by saying : "SNAKE BLING THROWING is absolutely awesome and it is what ShadoWar should be about." or something like that. The meme didn't catch on except maybe with ARMed_Pirate, but it still stayed deep in my mind.

Then, Padma was released - I couldn't get my hands on one due to not buying a ShadoWar starter box (a poor decision which I regret to this very day as I bought each starterx2 individually), but I liked how the character was based on burn. I got my hands on one shortly after QoS came out.

With Yoshimitsu being released and being all about discard and burn, I decided to return to Padma (because Yoshimitsu had been called by two people), looking at the character thoroughly. SNAKE BLING THROWING is now here to stay.

Here's a few deck choice explanations :

No Flexible Body - I don't have any. Otherwise they'd be in here, possibly replacing Risky Fighting Style.

Meditating in Battle over/without War Between Sisters - The R, as much as it is good, screws me completely. To the point of ridicule. Ergo, I'd rather have the form. Not only that, but Forming prevents Warrior's Path as well, especially at the beginning of the turn.

20 attacks - This deck needs to attack fast, strong and repeatedly. The deck needs momentum. Every attack goes to momentum. Why? Because every attack goes to fueling Power of the Edge. That is your only defense against extremely bad stuff.

Brooding? In a 18 vitality character? - Yes. +1 damage on Evil Mist ensures 2 more damage due to Padma's R.

Ever consider Intimidating Presence? Adds a bit more insult to injury on those weenie attacks/Throws. That, and if you can't kill them, you might as well drastically slow down their turn. It's not like your attack runs a lot of high-diff attacks anyways...

I can also F with Padma.

my padma kills pretty consistantly, with all teh cheap attacks (i put in) and all the low attacks in my padma, i think i can safely add in hunger for souls (not that i have any). Intimdating presence is also good, I have been able to go first and destroy enough of their foundations let them have 0 foundations for their next turn. reseting both fields + damaging them at the same time is a good deal to me.

Hunger for Souls, you say?

I wholeheartedly agree as it will piss off a large amount of people here.

oh yeah remember reduction (to a small amount) is padma's worst enemy (if you are trying to use the R). I will be adding sacrifices to the cause for all those pesky The Man behind the Mask. Be very carfeul with master of ninjitsu.

Generally, unless they're running Sa, Symbol of Protection or Immovable Object, they're visible and they can be avoided.

Yeah, I might ahve to side some KNEEL BEFORE ME! or some valued but not trusted in.

Honestly, PotE is so crucial to the deck I'd slide in VbnT and even Dead for a Thousand Years before KNEEL BEFORE ME!

I honestly like Lowdown neb in my padma build but it is sometimes hard to get off at the end of any attack chain but when you do it comes in for like 8 damage with its built in burn and padmas own burn

I also splash in FoTA for the giggles, 1 fully mutipled FoTA (no TOO hard to do esp if you are playing the momentum gen game) If unblocked totals 20 damage! talk about SEXXXXXXXXXXXXY. Of course then you could only play Padma's form for a grand total of 25 potential dmg (if unblocked) (or you can add in two deadly ring tech, oh and you can play your evil mists :o )

Good plan, but I'd do it only if I were running Chaos. It's got better momentum gen (gets access to the absolutely amazing Mishima Zaibatsu Leader) and can do more shenanigans.

im running off death, my attack line up is
Crushing Embrace of the Jotun x4
Two deadly ring tech x3
flooded nile throw x4
lowdown neb x4
swing kick x4
FoTA x2

It usually get enough momentum by turn 2 for a FoTA if not then usually at least have a manical laughter out. Also their foundations are pretty low in count so i dont get too worried about them killing me third turn.
