Ion token vs. Overlapping

By Malindovszky, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi guys,

I have a question:

What happens if an ionized ship performs the mandatory straight 1 maneuver and overlaps another ship doing so.

Can he perform actions that round, or not?

The ion token allows it to perform actions, and the rule says this movement is not a reveal maneuver.

But it overlaps another ship, which would prevent it from doing any actions.

I couldn't find any clarification for this.

Thank you in advance.

Nope.

If you bump, you skip your action step. It doesn't matter that the manoeuvre wasn't revealed from your dial.

Why you overlapped doesn't matter because it is the act of overlapping that causes you to skip your Perform Action step.

This does not mean you are forbidden from performing actions, only that you must skip the window of the Perform Action step where Actions are usually performed. If you later get a free action from somewhere you are still permitted to use that unless you happen to have a Stress token as well. Having a Stress token generally means you can a perform no actions at all, but note that spending and acquiring tokens are NOT Actions and can still be done while Stressed.
