Yep
If you maneuver than spam- can you still drop a bomb then?
Whaaat...?
I prefer bacon.
Yes, sometimes.
That is, there are two timing windows for bombs: some are dropped when you reveal your dial, and some are dropped as an action. For those bombs ("mines") that happen with the reveal timing, you can only drop them when you first reveal your dial (that is, SLAM doesn't count as revealing a dial). For those that are dropped as an action, under normal circumstances SLAM takes up your action.
But given the right upgrade, you can get around that. For instance, the Advanced SLAM modification allows you to take a free action after you perform the SLAM action, which would allow you to drop a Conner Net or any other bomb that can be dropped as an action.
Okay, for the old guy here, what does "spam" mean in this context?
As a community we should all agree on terminology.
Bombs are the ordinance dropped when you reveal you maneuver dial
Mines are dropped as an action

I can't be sure myself (old guy as well), but I believe SPAM is slang for autocorrect kicked me in the rear arc once again.
Bombs like Proton bomb are dropped when you reveal your dial. You then move the movement you revealed.
After you move you have the option to perform an action. The action can be (without extra cards, SLAM, TL, or Focus). Since there currently is no way to PTL with a K-wing you can SLAM and then you are done with your actions and have a disabled weapon.
If you have Advanced Slam equipped you are able to SLAM and if you have not bumped or overlapped a ship or obstacle you MAY perform an action like Focus, TL or drop a bomb with "ACTION:" on the card.
Without Advanced SLAM you do not get the second action.
Unfortunately, however, you cannot drop a bomb without an "ACTION:" on it after you SLAM because it is not considered revealing a maneuver.

For the most part if someone says Mine rather than Bomb, they mean the ones that are dropped via an action rather than after revealing your dial

Not at my FLGS, last week a guy, nice guy too btw, SLAMed with Miranda and said he was going to drop a bomb. I let him know he couldn't do that on the second dial reveal and he pointed to the Conner Net. People mis-using terminology makes my brain itch.

Yet all still use the "bomb" upgrade slot.
Mines will mean the action based bombs instead of the dial reveal ones. Bombs however still have their dual meaning along with a bunch of other things in the game that have a word used multiple ways.
Now SPAM in game context usually means throwing a bunch of the same, usually low cost, stuff into a squadron or at an opponent. It also happens to be a pretty easy mistake to make when you want to type slam because the p&l are close together and also because of those autonomous thinking machines out there that say what they think you want to say and you're ok with them doing it.
Thank you StevenO! At times it's very frustrating trying to follow along with slang, bad grammar and aut -correct. I don't have auto-correct but fat fingers and small keyboard. Hence a lot of 'thd' instead of 'the'.

I know there is plenty of slang on this forum and most any other that deals with some reasonably focused topics. Bad grammar also happens; especially in a rushed society and one that I'm afraid has lost a focus on basics in that rush to jump to more advanced things. That rush is also what gives us all the various auto-correct features which sometimes seem to do the thinking for us. I know I like having my computer spell check, and even grammar check, things I type but it just tells me there may be a mistake instead of just changing it.
I don't even want to get started on small keyboards. I've recently had to switch to using texts from my phone instead of being able to send messages via email from the computer to someone. That is really an exercise in frustration when typing on the phone is so slow and the keys so close my finger tips can cover three or four at one time while my keyboard proficiency is pretty high.

Faster isn't better. One of the things I learned long ago when dealing with computers is "GIGO". Stands for Garbage In, Gospel Out. Trying to correct a computer error **** near requires Divine Intervention. Don't get me started on voice recognition robo-receptionists. I don't long for the "Good Old Days" but I do enjoy having a carbon based life form answer the phone rather than a silicon wafer.

No, faster IS better than slower but ONLY if the error rate remains the same and ideally at zero errors. Errors take time to fix and if not caught quickly faster just makes more errors/time which can quickly negate any bonus provided by going faster.
When it comes to customer service it is really hard to replace a good human on the other end of the line. There are things where the robots do fine except they may be slow but when things are more complex the faster you get a human the faster you can get things solved. Calling CC company to activate new CC card the computer is fine but if I have a billing error or what to see about changing cards then a human makes things go better; the sad thing here is that I'm far more likely to get a human sales rep quickly than I am someone who can help with disputes and problems.
Wait. Are we sure this was an autocorrect error and not a joke about all the spam posts this morning?
Either way... I don't have anything to add.
Has the Bomb And SPAM article been revised again?!

Hang on: Bomb and mine are just colloquial terms used by the community because of the names of those upgrade cards, right? Cluster Mines, Proximity Mines...Conner Net? They're all still bomb tokens, so Sabine grants the extra damage whether it's a "bomb" or "mine". I hope that's right because I just corrected a guy at a tournament who thought otherwise.

Yes. Calling prox mines, Conner nets, and so on "mines" is purely a colloquialism used by the fans because of the card names used by several of the "action" drop bombs. As far as the rules go, they are all officially identified as "bomb" type upgrades and anything in the rules that refers to a bomb or the little bomb icon will effect them.

All are "bomb" tokens so Sabine will continue to do her thing with them.
