I went 2-3 and dropped. Good fun but my play was not up to par.

So, anyone know the distribution( Imp, Scum,Rebel) of the cut?

You mean good players continue to be good? But this game is nothing but dice!!

/s

But in all seriousness, the huge number of U-Boat builds is at the same time logical and alarming. The stats behind the squad are indeed very good already. 25 points for the already good statline and more importantly a cheap but efficient equipment combination... This explains why so many good players just jump on the U-Boat train pretty much unquestioned and do well with it on a major event. I believe this is even more than 4YTLT haf in its first events...

Surprising huh XD

I think you should wait until the actual results before declaring the sky is falling. If the top 4 are all running x3 U-boats then yeah sure but they are brand new, fun and a fairly decent list. "Good" players probably realised this and brought a counter to them like Carnor Jax. Very good players have brought a list that both counters the jumpmasters and also does well against Imperial Aces.

this omega leader wampa inquisitor build does quite a number on most rebel lists as well.

Destroys Corran and Poe

Eats up fat ships

Shrugs off TLTs

B-wings die quick

Where I see it having issues is against lists like Marcus McCallister's K-Wings now with Sabine. Palp doesn't help you against bombs

But I am kind of glad for the change, its making me really look at my lists and think, how the heck do I kill wampa in one turn...

I dont think That Omega leader, wampa, inquisitor and palpa is a good encounter against 4 B-s lists...

I think the 4 B list will be better against this imperial list, B-Wings dont die fast

If half of the players brought triple U-Boat but most of them end up in the bottom half, then I fail to see the issue.

Also, Palp Aces players don't have any right to complain about triple U-Boat lol.

Triple Jumpmaster is beatable, you just can't quad TLT or 1 green straight R2-D2 Poe to victory ten times a game anymore. That's not a bad thing.

The rest of what i say is just a fact. 25 points with such a statline is hell of a deal when compared. Look at the ORS for comparison. 2 points more, one less agility for similar HP, no elite slot, less and less useful upgrade slots...

But again i am not complaining, i have nothing against triple scouts so far. I just try to understand what is going on there and why so many jumped on this ship so early!

I think it's good for the game that U-Boats are (arguably) overpowered. Wave 8 meta is great right now due in part to U-Boats immediately being top tier. We had this before with TLT except triple Jumpmaster is very fun to fly so it doesn't feel like a chore.

Also, Palp Aces players don't have any right to complain about triple U-Boat lol.

these are the participation numbers, and from what we know a whole lot of U-Boat lists made the cut and top 32.

As far as I saw in this thread, the only hard fact about the top lists is top 16 after day 1, which included 9 Imperial and at least 1 rebel list. Even assuming there were no other rebel lists and that all Scum lists were U-boats, this gives us at best 6/16 U-boats. I wouldn't call that 'a whole lot' given how many lists took part.

Yes, from what sozin told us, day one was absolutely dominated by palp aces and that only two people in the top 16 were running uboat. We really don't have any hard information about the list break down for day two top tables. But I know Jeremy Howard was playing palp aces last weekend (as he annihilated my friend in the top 8 at our store championship) and I would be surprised if Drew bishop was not playing whisper.

I was watching and playing games with the uboats and found that they were seriously not being played well at all. People thought it was a point and click list but it really isn't.

I lost to it but mostly because with no action he was getting a ton of crits that ended up being direct hits on the pwt. If not for that kind of luck i win it pretty easily. Turns out later that I had a 35 card damage deck with extra direct hits for some reason.

PSA: check you damage decks. Weird **** can happen.

Got in late last night and had seen this but didn't post it. Hoping someone else would pick it up... Ha!

Standings after Swiss

Seeing a few more names we know in this list.

So, anyone know the distribution( Imp, Scum,Rebel) of the cut?

Cut happens after more rounds of Swiss amongst those who accumulated enough wins on day 1 and 2.

I see. Since that result sheet was labeled 'results after Swiss' I thought Swiss was done.

14th place should read Ken Hoskins :)

I spoke to the guy who ran that list. It is five of seinar adv prots with guidance chips and proton rockets.

I wonder how he did with those.
