Here is how it works. You use the throws to trigger all life is prey, keep them down, and i pressence, You use Master of Nin on throws that are base 4 damage. Lion Slayer is the finisher of the deck. With several all life is prey pumps it should be able to finish most decks off. Master of Magic is there to fuel my foundations for all life is prey. Leader, Excellent thief, and contemplating is there for draw so that when I discard or when my oppoenet draws I can keep up. I did have wipe the floor in the deck but after I looked closely i didn't really need it and put in another set of death throws. Cursed blood is there to set up faster and feed all life is prey. Tell me what you think.

Oh yeah I thought about using bracers of order and set.

bump for the sake of bumping.

You need High blocks, and you need 'em bad. I like Yoshimitsu* with Kaz 's support to crank up the damage, but that's just me.

You have a point. I'm in the middle of redoing the deck. I need to change the lineup.

Aggro I'm taking out Leader of Manjitou, Master of Ninjitsu, and possibly flea. I'm thinking of adding in rivarly with a bear and finicaial troubles. What do you think?

Sounds solid, though in my experience Rivalry with a Bear will be used as food for All Life is Prey , since no one ever lets that +3 damage get across.

You run a lot of throws; King of the Ring is expensive, but it can pump up a lot of damage and provide yet another version of hand control.

I'm thinking about some attack changes. Leg slash, Command the sandstorm, and Backhanded Axe Slash are being considered now. I'm thinking of taking out sandstorm throw. Did some testing versus kilik and he killed yoshi bad. Right now I'm thinking of getting more direct damage in. I found I need 1 and at max 2 throw to strip a characters hand. This great but that means my third attack has to be killer and right now my strongest attack is the one copy of Mt. Devil Divider.

King of the ring is a good idea but I would have to change over to death/void at my current skill level. I have a tendency of loosing track of symbols and just playing cards. But you bring up a good point.

Tested bracers of horus and set. It didn't work to well. I'm sticking with rivarly with a bear. Trying 3 finicaial troubles in deck. Knocked keep them down by 1. Testing against King right now. King has won the last 3 games. I still need tweaking.

Have you considered Cleave? And do you have use for 4 contemplating? I don't think it is a all that great.

For damage..maybe unstoppable warrior can work? you can get some more use out of all life is prey that way..

You said in another thread that you were having trouble with acrobatic, why not use valued but not trusted so that you can stop them from using it.

I've encountered the following setbacks. Trying all death just failed hardcore. This is when I was focused on doing massive discarding. All LIfe is prey and I-pressence was serving me more then anything else. I found the same to be true when I went death/order. I couldn't get over the more aggro based characters. Then I took Lord Aggro and anothers advice and it caused me to switch symbols with focus on void. It could have been a pure void deck but finicial troubles, excellent thief, and a few other cards became very benificial. The build went aggro focused with War between sisters knocked down to 3 so that i could play it on my opponents turn. The next problem I faced was my playgroup when I let them know what I was playing. This was done on purpose because they built decks with hard anti-discard effects and still worked in their deck. They proved to me in reality that to shut down a dicard deck you need 8 or more anti-discard cards. This will do enough to make a forced discard to much of a risk. The only way the risk is reduced is if you can see their hand. That doesn't work out well with Yoshi. Yoshi didn't do well at all. I had some decent cards in the deck.

The pros of going void is King's throws which give him damage. Dropping all of his other discard effects where worth it. But the deck has to move toward aggro so that you can pump massive throw damage then use Yoshi's E. You need to get to 12+ damage to flush the average defensive hand. This is true unless you are facing characters who can draw and draw. Anyone who is playing finicial troubles, Paul's Gi, Hildes weapon are going to give Yoshi problems.

All in all even with running Yoshimitsu*, pavillion and several other good cards the deck doesn't stand against cards in the meta. The control elements does not limit or hurt aggro fast enough. King of the Ring is needed and you have to keep locking them down each turn. If you don't get the card out by turn 2 you are two screwed. The issue I've been thinking about the last few days is why not just run King. I could easily mod King and take a few of Yoshi's elements and control hard. Yoshi's commit to do damage equal to discard only works well with his E. It was confirmed that keep em down down would not stack for a greater effect. All in all I think the character maybe a flop until something strong anti-aggro comes out for him to stay alive to do his thing. I don't see that happening. The abilities just don't provide counter balance to aggro. Aggro is reuseable. Control is not. Yoshi wan'ts to go for a mid to long game. Astrid was punking him all the way. Kilik shut down his throws and the long game was his. Paul stunned him out with a gut drill reversal. Mitsirugi and Hilde just did crazy speed/damage attacks he had no chance of blocking. I'm a bit depressed writting this because I put a lot of effort into this. I've just seen it really fail hard and I feel forced to play aggro. Even playing Kisheri and testing her this weekend I just recognize that control characters will have to be stronger or forced to play mediocre aggro. I hate to say it I think my Yoshi deck is DOA.

On the valued but not trusted issue. I have to know they have the card in their hand to stop them from playing it. Not only that it is limited to the attack only and not the rest of the combat phase. THis makes the card only good for the kill card to hedge your bets. Thanks for the advice but I don't think it would work.

I played as Yoshi (using dark's deck) this past weekend I was able to defeat Kisheri another control deck, defeated Yi Shen once, because I got him to flip the Iron Thunder cards, but against that Roman I had a very NPE.. Other then that the best use of Yoshi ability to me would be via reversals which only have gut drill may not be the greatest.

Other then that the concept is sound but since aggro is king, control will remain low tier.

Marcus Gaius ability to get action cards back is just raw sick if that card has an anti-discard effect. Omar would be just as bad. Having an fish ability allows the person to always punk the discard character.
