Does anyone know...

Okay...all who ordered from Amazon.

Sorry to say but time to cancel and support another store / dealer. I've had my pre-order on Amazon since available on the site and they have changed my Delivery estimate to 2nd week of Jan. When I spoke with Prime Accounts directly they said that they have no clue when it will be available to ship and is only an estimate.

Time to shop elsewhere I'm sorry to say.

Just an update to those of you who ordered from The WarStore. I got a response back from Neal and he says they should have a bunch in tomorrow, so it was just the fact that they are supply chain managed, and not that they were out of stock. Again, I have no idea why I didn't just order from him in the first place as they always have first rate customer service.

Neal at The War Store confirmed my copy of WFRP was in stock and that it was waiting to receive the GW items that I tacked on to my order that was holding it up. Doh! Still confirmed it should ship in a day or so. W00t!

All right, so the consensus is that this (posted below) is crap and if I want the game before x-mas I should cancel and go somewhere else, right?

I cancelled my Amazon order first thing this morning and placed an order at www.thewarstore.com right after. It was shipped today and I should have it by Thursday.

Don't wait on Amazon. Get it somewhere else.

But my question is, what the f*** is the problem with Amazon. Everyone else seems to be able to fill orders, why not them? Just curious. Where did the breakdown happen.

I honestly believe the blame should be pointed where it belongs on this one, FFG. They did not print enough. I have no idea why, but there is absolutely no reason why every order should not be filled at every distribution house. Just a thought, but this is ridiculous on the part of FFG. I'm just saying.

I ordered the exact same day as you, and I've been pushed back to the 17th. This is just insane.

Normally I would agree, however it seems a lot of people have had problems with Amazon in the past, so I would tend to say it is their fault. I let them know it too in my reason for cancelling.

And normally I don't rail on the little guy, but FFG put up an announcement last week they were all out of copies and the next run of reprints would arrive around Mid-December. Hmmm, what other date is mid-december...oh I know, the 17th. I don't know, the math is just too simple to add up there gui%C3%B1o.gif . Also, FFG is also notorious for never printing enough copies of everything and re-stock takes for ever and ever and ever. Still waiting for the Dark Pharaoh restock as mine got trashed.

When I ordered White Wolf from them, no problem. DND, no problem. All other major printing companies (including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which my sister got days before the release), no problem. I don't know, just starts to add up for me the other way. Obviously, if Amazon had enough copies to fill every order, they would have. Now, maybe they took in too many orders and didn't notify people realistically of when their order would be filled...then again, maybe not. After all there was a delay between the big box stores and brick and mortars by a week of release date (Amazon included). Seems like Brick and Mortars got there shipment, then everyone else bleeds out from there. Warstore and FRP don't have this problem because they also have a practical store, hence why their orders have no problem being filled and STILL have no problem being filled. Obviously those companies have extra copies lying around and places like Amazon somehow got short-changed. Heck, my local store my friend picked up a copy last week had four extra. The owner was wondering if he had too many and was practically begging our group to buy the extra copies.

I guess I'm a little fired up about it because it's not like a source book or we could use our existing dice to play the game. Instead we're caught in a waiting game. FFG is busy announcing new material when all of their old material (including the dice packs) have not even made it to the shops yet. Who knows when those products are coming out as the dice are not even available yet. Now I'm lucky enough to have a friend with a set, but I know some people aren't. And to be perfectly honest, it's **** hard to play with just one set. Sure, you can share components, but when you're sharing talents with 4 recharge a piece between three players, it's a real pain. The extra sets will help eliminate that problem. Wherever the break-down happened, it's problematic for my group and others I'm sure. If FFG is already out and Amazon can't fill all their orders while some stores (Warstore for example) is capable of accepting an order today and have it shipped out by tomorrow from their distribution house then clearly that distribution house got too many and Amazon was a bit short changed. That's all I'm saying.

Sure Amazon are ******-bags too, but there is absolutely no reason what-so-ever FFG should not have staged this whole thing a little better.

**** happens?

I feel your pain, but I can't imagine it was completely one sides fault.

Try ordering it from CoolStuffInc.: www.coolstuffinc.com/

They're asking price is only $7 higher than Amazon's.

Wait, Amazon having slow pre-orders is surprising anyone?

This first happened to me at least ten years ago. Count on your stuff being much cheaper, and much later with Amazon.

I expected it, and the 37% difference is worth it in my opinion. Frustrating though.

It's all a master scheme to get us all addicted by causing us to wait!

I spoke with Amazon on Friday and they said it would ship Nov 30th or first thing on December 1st and to call if it doesn't ship on the first. Said they had enough to cover current pre-orders (at least when I spoke with them on Friday)

They lied to you. My preorder just got postponed to 'Estimate Shipping 17th to 29th Dezember'.

Edit: I see i should have read the whole thread, as this was already common knowledge. So ignore me sonrojado.gif .

argh, WTF!!!! It's the first time that this has happened in Amazon. My pre-order has been postponed to December 14. I receive all D&D books in pre-order one day before of the estimated.

Amazon might have decent discounts, but their track record on preorders has been less then stellar, in my experince. I have placed 5 different preorders over the last few years, with Amazon. I ended up canceling three of them, and going through some one else. I ended up paying a bit more then I wanted to, but I got the items faster.

I also cancled my amazon pre order. Im not waithing till after X-mas enfadado.gif

Hey, you shouldn't really complain THAT much about amazon.

I know whenever I order books from them, the postage is sky high and takes about 2 months to get it delivered... pretty much any day of the year.

That/s what you get for living in the most geographically isolated city on the planet.

Yeah. To be fair, the preorder issue is a minor gripe, being only a small fraction of everything I have ever bought through them. And there are two sides to this story, and FFG should take some of the blame. For what it is worth, I love Amazon .....maybe a bit to much, if you ask my wife.

I am a strong supporter of Amazon and use them frequentely and rarely have anything bad to say about them, but as an avid Dark Heresy player I learnt a long time ago that there is absolutely no point ordering anything published by FFG from them if you want it around the time of launch. If you are happy to wait a couple of months then they can deliver the goods. I have no idea why this is but trust me on this.

A few months ? Really? I can wait a few weeks, but months seems a bit ridiculous. I'm sure I could just pick it up at the store around January here.

What other viable solutions are there for a Belgian who wants it before Christmas?

I got the 'december 17th' email from Amazon...cancelled order...

Went to www.ccgarmory.com . Was $5 more than amazon (and shipping cost $10), but it went on a truck within an hour after my ordering. Got my tracking number and now just waiting for friday delivery. They also have great prices on the green/yellow card sleeves (I think it's $16 for all the sleeves required for the basic and adventurers toolkit).

Has anyone else ordered from buy.com? I ordered from there and it still hasn't been shipped. preocupado.gif

I just got a message that my WarStore order will be shipping and I imagine I will get it by the weekend. I just want to say again to all of you who had Amazon orders, you won't regret getting it from The WarStore. It was roughly $6 more than my Amazon order plus the flat $5.95 shipping. Totally worth it and you won't find better customer service.

I decided it was worth the $9 to have my copy shipped tomorrow morning (latest) from the Warstore than maybe get it December 17th from Amazon. I called since I wanted to hear a person confirm that they had copies in stock and ready to go, and I had the confirmation e-mail before I could hang up my phone.

This is after I called my FLGS and they told me they might have it tomorrow because the "distributor sent it to the wrong place." That store is famous among my friends and I for always having what product you want... next Tuesday.

Thank you for the information, I did the same thing and let Amazon know why I cancelled my order.

Let's hope CCGarmory is reliable!
