WHEN THE HELL WILL AMAZON SHIP THE DAMNED PRE-ORDERS?

It's all a master scheme to get us all addicted by causing us to wait!

I spoke with Amazon on Friday and they said it would ship Nov 30th or first thing on December 1st and to call if it doesn't ship on the first. Said they had enough to cover current pre-orders (at least when I spoke with them on Friday)

DITTO. I have the 2-day shipping option, so I assume if they sent it out sometime today and just haven't updated the status then I will get it by the 2nd like I am supposed to. It's usually for this reason that I don't order from online retailers.

I've had bad experiences with Amazon pre-orders in the past getting delayed weeks or even months after release. My estimated delivery date of 12/2 wasn't going to be met unless it shipped today. I didn't think to try to call them, but not sure I would believe what Joe Random customer service rep told me even if I did. In most cases, I'm willing to wait for the extra savings Amazon offers, but I want this game badly enough that I didn't want to risk having to wait on a second print run, so I canceled my pre-order and ordered from The War Store. While it was $13 more, I hope to have it by the end of the week rather than still be waiting for Amazon. If I find out tomorrow that everyone that pre-ordered from Amazon had theirs shipped, I'm going to be a little upset, but I didn't want to wait until other merchants' stock was exhausted to find out that Amazon would have to delay my order either.

Just FYI.

According to the CS rep I just talked to, Amazon hasn't even received the game yet from FFG. I find this hard to believe myself. According to the rep they have no estimate on when Amazon orders will be shipped. Now, I will say that I could barely understand the rep I talked to and I am not sure he could completely understand me. So it is possible some things were lost in translation.

Either way I cancelled my order with Amazon and ordered through a source with much better customer service...warstore FTW...and hope to have it by the end of the week.

I can confirm that. Amazon hasn't recieved the game at all. I was told to expect delivery the first week of February.

As of 11pm EST last night, estimated shipping date from Amazon is December 3rd. That's the email I got anyway.

Amazon now shows WFRP3's availability as "2-4 weeks" and that ordering it now will not get it to you before Christmas. No idea how that impacts pre-orders, but considering that my pre-order said it would release on 11/30, and I didn't get any optimistic emails like Winter did, and with the new changes to the availability page, I dropped that order and went with the war store. About $10 more with shipping, but at least they are reliable. This was my first negative encounter with Amazon, though.

Now if the Adventurer's Toolkit and extra dice would just start showing up...

FYI, Amazon has updated their site and now no longer lists the Core Set as available for pre-order; however, it states that this items normally ships within two to four weeks and there is another disclaimer that if you are ordering it for Christmas that, "This item requires additional time to ship and will arrive after December 25." I expect people that have pre-ordered it will start receiving the boilerplate email, "Unfortunately, an unexpected delay from our supplier may prevent us from delivering some items in your order placed on {date} by {previously estimated shipping date} (which seems to be 12/2 or 12/3 for most people). We'll keep working to obtain these items for you, and we'll ship the items as soon as we receive them..." anytime now.

As for my preorder, I am just going to cancel it. After seeing these conflicting reports on here and not getting any updates from Amazon even though my order says it will be here tomorrow, I have little confidence. I should have just gone with The WarStore all along as i buy a lot of thing through them and NEVER have a problem.

Thought about ordering the Invasion LCG from them as well but their delivery estimates are all over the board for those items lol. Apparently none of you were hit with the pre-order/delay/update fandango Amazon had with the Black Library edition of Dark Heresy.

I'll keep fingers crossed for y'all, but don't expect it any time soon, if it shows - awesome - if not within the next couple of weeks, not a surprise.

To back up other readers, I checked this on Amazon (still waiting to make the leap) early this morning and it read that it was available for preorders, now less than 4 hours later the status has shifted to ships in 2-4 weeks with a notation that if you're ordering it as a gift it will not be delivered by 12/25. I wonder if I'd ordered it while on preorder if I could expect it in a reasonable length of time or would have been shunted to the 2-4 week crowd.

Safe bet, if you didn't order this via Amazon at least a month+ ago you're waiting until after Xmas.

I was told my pre-order (from 11/12) would not be delivered until after Christmas. I canceled and ordered through another vendor. It should be shipping out today.

Ok, I just got my Warstore invoice back and it appears to be on backorder. Does anyone who ordered from them know if this is just them needing to get it from their warehouse (which happens to me a lot) or if they are out of stock? When I ordered it the main page said they were in stock still. I sent a message to Neal as well, so hopefully I have an order coming my way.

When I talked to a manager at Amazon he said that they didn't recieve any copies of the game and were not going to be able to fill the 421 U.S. pre-orders. I cancelled my order and ordered a copy from FRP Games. They have copies in stock and said mine would ship out today. As of 10am Pacific time they still had copies in stock.

The War Store shows this item as being supply chain managed, which if you click on the link goes on to further say that when it says "normally ships in 1 to 2 business days" (which is what it said yesterday when I ordered) means that either they have it in stock themselves or that it was available to them from a distributor within 1 day. There is also a disclaimer that they can't control the fact that between the last time they checked with said distributor and when you placed your order that the distributor may have sold out.

My order confirmation says it's being reviewed and will ship as soon as it can be readied with no hint of any item being back ordered (I also ordered the 40k Fortress of Redemption terrain set which GW made available in limited supply). I hope that in the case of WFRP it is because I placed my order yesterday and beat the rush that occurred today after Amazon updated their site and lots more people canceled their pre-orders and scrambled to try to get it somewhere else. Seems that you may not have been as lucky szlachcic.

My email did not mention the backorder, mine said the same as yours. However, if you check your order status on their webpage it should say if it is available or backordered. Mine says backordered, but as certain items are supply chain managed like you said, all this means is that they have to wait a day or two to get the item and then ship it. When I hear back from Neal I will give an update.

Yeah, I spoke too soon and just saw that my copy is listed as back ordered as well when I checked my order status. I've emailed Neal to see if he can even speculate as to when I might get it, but at this point, I'm no longer hopeful I have it for my birthday this week and fearful that it may be some time in 2010 before I can get my hands on it since I'm not all that optimistic that Neal can track down a distributor with remaining copies seeing as how this game seems to be selling like hot cakes. In which case I may as well cancel my War Store order and re-order from Amazon, knowing full well that I'm now much further down in the queue than I was before I canceled my pre-order yesterday.
