Harlock's Legacy

By Casamyr, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

Hi Folks, I've been a DH GM for a while, but now changing over to RT. I haven't run Tattered Fates, yet for my crew (currently exploring the Temple of Elemental Evil in Dnd land) and after flicking through it, it seems like it would fit right into RT's - even the House of Ash and Dust would have a unique perspective from a RT being there to buy artifacts and being caught up in the affairs.

I'm interested to know if anyone has run this as part of a RT campaign and what people might think?

I think House of Dust and Ash is perfect, nothing like the relics of the Haarlocks to entice a RT, and if I remember correctly when I ran it, there are a few RT's there already.

The House of Dust and Ash, is perfect for RT. I've already run it with this group as Acolytes, but if I do Harlocks Legacy, I may run House again, but the players there at the same time as their acolytes were. It'd be funny to see/hear their reaction as they recognise a group wander past that they once played - do they help the acolytes at the end, or do they flee for their sorry lives.

Tattered Fates could be interesting. There's nothing really in there that can't be a RT adventure. Even the Inquistor would ask a RT for help, and a Rt would likely be a fool to turn down the Inquisition but, again, it would be interesting so see a take where the driving factor is more grey in nature. I'll have to read through again to see.

I have only read the House of Dust and Ash adventure.

In my opinion, it would make for an even better adventure in Rogue Trader. Instead of attending the auction undercover, the players would actually be there to see what they could get, and be players in all the intrigue.

I haven't read Haarlock's Legacy. I would like to use it, maybe next year, but will only commit to it when everything is published. I'd prefer not to cliffhang my group indefinately.

heh, yeah. Big reason why I hadn't started to run the adventure.

I'm probably going to end up running my RT group through at least house, and may even have them contacted by the Inquisitor since everyone knows inquisitors never just have one plan. As for the rest of the Campaign having read the 1st book, get ready for your party to want to hurt you since the 1st thing that happens in the story is they loose ALL of their gear, and depending on how you run it never get it back.

From people who played in the 1st book, it is unabashedly brutal to the point, where you need to be very careful or you will wipe the party, It could have been the dice hating the people I know played it, but they were struggling to get out of the 1st part, and then lost several characters to the need to make some money to afford gear to be able to fight demons

So if you do run Ash and Dush and Harlock's legacy.... How do you break it down into endeavours and PF?

I ran House of Dush and Ash midway through my Rogue Trader campaign. I had asked the players if they were interested (no-one had read the adventure) and they went for it. The rogue trader heard "through the grapevine" about this auction while in Calixis so he wanted to give it a go before heading back out into the expanse.

The result? Hilarity. The party were a lot stronger than most if not all of the other groups at the auction so I played up some of the more dangerous aspects of the adventure. I also included a bunch of new groups and individuals including a group of Inquisitorial acolytes in disguise. gui%C3%B1o.gif Oh and Hadarak Fel since he survived Into The Maw and wasn't adverse to an alliance since the party had treated him decently.

As for PF, I didn't break it down into endeavours especially since I kept the contents of the auction secret until they were in the House of Dust and Ash. The RT party did retrieve enough items of interest to sell on for PF.
