can the archer move or melee if the enemy is adjacent ?

The card text states "units with ranged weapons may not fire, even at point blank."

So they can move but not fire. For rules sake it seems that ranged units only can fire, seems they forgot to take a little knive or something, so no melee for them ever, if I understood the rules and discussions right.

Battlelore Players Guide , page 20, column 1: "If the attacker's weapon is a missile weapon used as Point Blank (i.e. to attack a unit on an Adjacent hex), the attack is still considered Melee."

So, an archer does, technically, melee.

Back to the OP's question, I agree that as Point Blank fire is specifically forbidden, a unit with a Ranged weapon cannot Melee with that card.
