What the future will bring?

By ffgfan, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

So now we know that the WFRP 3ed is a success (the sold-out of the first wave make no doubt about that).

In few days we will have the Adventures Toolkit and after this a secret project with a funny code name "Project Thunderbolt". So i'm asking myself what will be next after all this?

In my opinion there should be:

- A Book About Religion in the Old World

- A Book About Wizards in the Old World

- A Empire Compendium with a bigger Bestiary, new carrers and Armoury book

That would be a nice start of the new year with does in plans by FFG.

Of course the are amny other ideas for the books like - Dwarf book, Elves book, Chaos book, Orcs book and many others.

Those two are included in the core set if I remember correctly.

HALFLINGS!

He means more careers and spells.

But anyway, I hope they'll bring out a box on another region of the Empire (along with new careers), and of course Halflings (even if it was only to reduce the rat population in Altdorf).

As I already have a lot of background material through my huge collections of army books and the like I would much rather them print pre-made adventures and more kits that expand careers/skills/etc.

Also, a full fledged Monster Manual would be great.

I'd almost expect to see more products like the core set and toolkit; hybrid, group-oriented products, rather than race, concept, or nation-specific ones, themed around a concept. So, for example, a "Rural Reikland" set that offers a dozen new careers (themed around hunters, backwoods types, Amber and Jade wizards), details some towns and wilderness areas, and provides a series of adventures that can be run standalone or linked.

Man I love WHFRP 3e, but it's kinda of scary how the new edition opens itself up for tons of suppliments. A magic item card and action card product, token and dice products. The possibilities are endless and my wallet is very afraid.

AGREED!!!

I would think an advanced careers pack, given the small amount of advanced careers given with the core set.

I'd say that's a pretty good guess. No one would turn down a character pack and an expanded bestiary.

I would like to see something like a series of "source box sets". Each one doesn't necessarily feature a completely detailed storyline, but general hooks and ideas to develop your own. The box is focused on a particular region (for example: The Drakwald), style of play (the "war" set, the "detective" set, the "adventure" set), race or "faction" (Vampire Counts, Greenskins, Chaos but maybe also Dwarves or The Empire in general). It adds new spells, careers, flavour, creatures, etc. all somehow connected to this main theme. I'd be more interested in that than a supplement only about magic, only about religion or only about careers, personally.

sorry, I should say DWARFS instead of Dwarves :)

Anyway, I can really imagine a very atmospheric box set called "Secrets of the Drakwald" or something, full of plot hooks, creatures, NPCs, history, etc. purely about this huge, dark forest.

I'd like some really well thought out adventures that utilize the new dice mechanics to be honest. Something that is inventive and can really set a good scene for narrative would really be the cherry on top for me.

Perhaps as part of this same pack, perhaps a short tutorial or tips on how to develop some really unique and interesting skill challenges so that it would also be a resource as well as an adventure.

Published adventures is what I want. Don't have the time to craft my own campaigns.
