Just picked this game up, had a couple quick questions...

By Texas_Ben2, in Rogue Trader

As the title says, just picked this game up and really looking forward to playing it, but I had a couple miscellaneous questions:

First: Is there anywhere I can find a printer-friendly version of the character sheet? The one offered on the official site is... not.

What's the deal with Lances? From the Warhammer fluff I've read elsewhere, it seems like lances are supposed to be really good... And in-game they take up a large amount of space and power, yet they don't seem to live up to what I expected... Low strength, average damage and range? Am I missing something?

If I was going to use a character class from DH, would using the RT origin path system make him overpowered?

I had more questions but I can't remember them at the moment...

No idea on the character sheet, sorry.

The key bit about lances is that they ignore the target's armour. Unless you hit quite well with a battery, armour will soak up a great deal of it's punch.

No such thing from what I know, sorry.

But there's something you can do to make it a little more printer friendly. Basically print it in grayscale instead of colour and adjust the printer settings so that it will print them as "drafts" rather than full colour (most printers and software have this option). That way the printer will print it out with less dots per inch than the usual full colour.

The end result will pretty much look like the standard character sheet but a little "bleached", but everything on it is still quite readable and functional and it saves a lot of ink for the printer.

Hope it helps. happy.gif

Ah I missed that bit, that makes sense then.

Also they crit much more easily. The trick is to use another weapon to take down the void shields.

As for DH characters, they aren't designed to use the Origin Path, so I would suggest, instead, just adding 5000xp to the character in order to bring it to the same level.
