Buying More Ships

By Gawdzend, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

I just started GMing a group of neer-do-well's, they have the ship they've started with, they've thwarted some pirates, shuttled a bunch of pilgrims, and all the fun stuff the fringes of space has to offer.

In this matter, they have accrued quite a bit of wealth, enough they think to outright purchase another vessel to help with the work they are regularily employed upon.

I, however, cannot for the life of me find the section for just purchasing an additional ship.

Is it actually in the book, or would I have to come up with an additional system for buying a new ship, i.e. converting wealth into SP which is then spent?

Thanks for any help.

Doesn't the book have suggestions for buying individual starship components with Profit Factor? I'd say that you use that one and force the players to make Acquisition tests for at least all essential components needed for a starship (hull, plasma drive, geller field, warp engine etc. etc.)

the rules for getting a new strarship are on page 274. For the hull you use the ship points as a modifier to your profit factor roll to make the acquisition. You also don't use the modifiers for scale as seeking 1 starship is still a really big job.

It all seems so obvious now. gran_risa.gif Thanks a bunch for both those responses Messrs. Bootstrap and Tybalt.
