Frostmarch Misprint ? no spoiler

By Hemux, in Talisman

Hi there,

Sorry guys, it's quite unusual from me to create a new topic for tiny questions ; and I wanted to post it in other threads related to frostmarch BUT as you can guess it is full of spoilers and tons of pages, so... I quite avoided that opportunity ;)

My question is just this : could you please, happy Frostmarch owners, and without letting slip any spoilers in your answer (I know, it is hard), confirm the sayings of this guy which I just read and kind of.... got me panicked :

www.amazon.com/Fantasy-Flight-Games-Talisman-Frostmarch/product-reviews/B002U2JKFC/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_summary

Is he saying the truth ? If so, it is such a shame !

Thanks, and cheers !

Nothing misprinted as far as I am aware. I think perhaps that he means that they are not exactly what he expected.

I hope not..

i hope they are not vague.. preocupado.gif

Confirmed. I didn't notice any typos yet and Adventure Card size is the same of Reaper and Base set (Adventure Cards from the Dungeon were slightly taller).

The only strange thing I and others have noticed is the size of Warlock and Necromancer miniatures, that are a little bit too small compared to previous ones. Just put the Philosopher and the Necromancer side by side and you'll notice that the latter's head barely reaches the first one's elbow. If we assume that the Philosopher is a 1.85 m tall man (about 6 feet), then the Necromancer is 1.40 m (4 ft 7 in).

But I think that also the Assassin and Thief from the base set were too small; even the mighty Gladiator is not as imposing as the Wizard or the Minstrel. I've had a good time painting Frostmarch miniatures because they have quite good detail, so no real problem because of size.

We must not forget that each figure has his own tall or small size ( example: the leprechaun..) happy.gif

(in the real world, not everyone has the same length.. lengua.gif

So the Philosopher is in this case taller as the Necromancer ( but i must admit that 1.40 is very short for such a guy..

From a picture, it looks like that the Warlock is taller as the necromancer ( not much i think..)

Hi Hem,

Just a question..

I assume that you don't have the Frostmarch expansion this moment, but has your shop says anything how long it takes when they get that expansion?

I live in the netherlands, (not so far away) and my local game shop does not know when he will receive the frostmarch expansion.. sad.gif

Just wondering if france knows some more..

Frostmarch figures are indeed smaller. But so are the Dungeon ones when compared to the base + Reaper ones. It's less of a height issue, more of an overall thickness issue. Base game characers have almost twice the thickness in their arms and legs as the Dungeon/FM ones.

Just checked the figures, Necromancer comes up to barely the chest of the Philosopher, but oddly enough the Phil is also a full head taller than the Gladiator (both Dungeon). The Dwarf is actually taller than the Necromancer.

I have some spaces to fill on my site's Miniatures pages... gran_risa.gif

...and yes, the miniatures are a bit smaller, but the detail is much better this time around.

Forgot to mention, but in the heads especially you can see the size difference. Base game characters have probably 1.5 to 2 times headsize compared to Dungeon/FM characters (barring Ogre Chieftain).

That's funny lengua.gif

well, maybe we must take the small and large size not too serious, but the weird thing is, that Fantasy fFight has said, that they will produce tall, and short figures or something like that..

I didn't notice any typos on any othe the cards. But I am very upset with my Leprachaun Miniature. The miniature itself is leaning forward on a 45 degree angle. It looks as if his knees bend the oppisite way. He is also missing piecies of his arms. Both arms on my mini are cut off form the elbow to the shoulder. There is a void where his arms should me. Evertthing else is ok just the Laprachaun mini is all screwed up. I wonder if anyone else has any bad minis or am I the only unlucky one.

Such are the risks with moulded figs, but probably should have been picked up in the factory.

If you look at the "User Support" link at the bottom of this page, you will be able to send a message to Thaadd, the FFG customer service goddess, who will no doubt sort it out for you.

The "Lose One Life" Warlock Quest Card has a typo!

Ell.

Ok, thank you all. That's weird, I wonder what the guy mean, then. It looked as if he was saying there were many cards with spelling mistakes, vocable misprints and all...

Velhart : nah, sorry, my poor european mate : I don't usually buy in any shop in Paris because they sell at uninteresting prices. So I always (almost) buy on the web, that is, the french, britanian and german ones. And no, sorry, no news. Let's wait...

Hi Hem,

I can also buy the Frostmarch on ebay, but i don't want to do that, because..( 1, there is a chance that you can get double figures and missing figures etc. 2: With the sending, it is possible that the box will be damaged..

If i buy it here in the netherlands, and there is a problem with my expansion, then i can easily go back to the shop gui%C3%B1o.gif

Hey, I'm not the most skilled painter around here, but if you give me some address where I can send you the photos, then you'll judge which ones might be fit for Talismanisland.

I don't want to put them on another site or to open a new account. Here I can't upload photos directly, just make links.

Just sent a PM, but there is a link to my email in my sig!

BTW - I heard back from azoic and it seems the comments of "misprints" are down to his backs being printed off-centre. I have advised him to get in touch with FFG customer service to sort it out!

I have receive the Frostmarch expansion yesterday, and i notice, that there is indeed a problem with the cutting of the cards. They are not printed in the centre.

My Lore Master adventure card has a yellow smudge below the card, under the word (new) ( before apprentice) sad.gif

On top of that, some cards are also fray.

THAT would have been funny ;)

Ok Velhart..... so everything was TRUE..... (thunder noise and big flash).... the frostmarch expansion is badly printed...... there is no hope....

.... ****, anyway, bad printing or not I still haven't mine, and THAT actually sucks more than anything :( I wanted it for Christmas....

I could not believe this..

I have ask some weeks ago a replacement for my smudge lore Master card, and they have send the card to me.

I have receive that card some days ago, and look inside the letter, and what did i see..... the same problem !

Oh man, well... i can do nothing about it, and it's already kind enough that they send a card to me.. sad.gif
