2 Questions (Spending others clue tokens to seal & sealing/closing + encounter)

By ishinken, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Q1: There is a character from Innsmouth expansion that lets others spend her clue tokens. Is it possible for other investigators to SEAL gates by spending her clue tokens?

Q2: Even though this should be clear to me.. it aint (and I've played many times). When you seal/close a gate during your encounter phase, do you get to draw an encounter AFTER the gate is closed/sealed? What I remember the rules saying is that you just do the sealing/closing DURING the encounter phase. And it doesn't say that your turn/phase ends because of it.

Just want to say that we played with the possibility to seal gates with her clue tokens and we also had a character that made it possible to teleport items between characters :) So it was a really lazy and EASY game session where one ran around sealing with clue tokens from the other investigator whilst another one (the girl who gets 1$ each upkeep) stood and bought elder signs that we teleported over to another gate closer ;D

1. Though I don't have Innsmouth, I think the answer is yes. That's what makes her so broken, isn't it?

2. You do not get an encounter if you seal the gate. I think according to the rules you check if you're standing on a portal or not. If you are not, you may decide to get an encounter or use the special ability of the location. If you are, you check if you've got an explored marker. If you got one, you may close (and seal) the gate, if you don't, you get drawn into the portal.

Patrice usually guarantees a win by gate seals.

Closing the gate is your encounter during that Arkham Encounter phase.
