UK players FYI

I've been following the developer diaries for the last few weeks on WFRP and have been pretty impressed so far. As a UK player however, I was a bit concerned over the price tag in the run up to xmas and started hunting around.

I know in the US amazon are setting up pre-orders at a really cheap rate but the lowest online I was able to find was £68. Having accidentally stumbled on it on play.com today however I was pleasently suprised to find it up for pre order for £55!

I just thought I'd share this with my fellow UK players in the hope of encouraging some more people to try something new!

All the best

Don

I saw this too. £54.99 with free delivery. The best price I've seen by far. I pre-ordered it last night.

But will it get passed our trade standards laws? After all, its got the word "Roleplay" on the box........

Im sure play will figure that out since they technically dont ship alot of stuff from jersey these days(they just ship dvds and music i think) so it should get to those of us who pre ordered it from them without trouble, i'd be abit more concerned that they have it down as not being in stock till dec 27th which is about a month after the expected on sale date.

There is a thread on the UK role players here:

..that explains a bit of what's going on. Which is why Play probably won't be getting them until after xmas

luckily I pre-ordered from my FLGS to should be getting mine in time for xmas, fingers crossed.

P.S. I think the comment about trading standards was a hidden dig at V3 being a board game and not an RPG...or am I just being cynical?

Out of interest, how much did you pay? It seems a bit difficult to work out what the exchange rate is going to spit out at me. Also, I would'nt ever order this from Amazon or the like.

From talking on the phone to a fair number of retailers I reckon the average store price here int he UK will hover around £60-£65.

Darn sad.gif

Still I'm lucky enough to have two FLGS just 3 doors next to each other so hopefully they may offer competative prices or a bundle deal

I got mine ordered from Maelstrom games when they had it on for £53.99. They have upped the price there now though to about £70, I think. IGUK have it for £67 delivered but to be honest, if i didn't have it on pre-order, I'd be tempted by the price on play.com too.

Ta for the info. Think My group will wait for reviews before we commit, as you are going to want a couple of extra sets of dice, extra player material, etc. All in all it looks like a £100 plus initial outlay.

Has anyone seen a scabby pox-marked hide or blood matted hair of this for sale in the UK yet?

The think the only relevent legal thing thing is that because it is boxed, there will be VAT on it.
