Wounded Hero in a Trap

By sheetyfadi2, in Battlelore

I have brought up this question in a different thread before but I didn't get any answers.

The rules don't specify what happens to a hero when wounded by a trap (when searching for a hidden treasure). Does it go to the opponent's victory track or is just removed from the adventure?

I played the first scenario and my hero got wounded in the witch's hut. We played it by giving him my hero as a victory banner. But when I think about it, it doesn't sound reasonable at all. My hero was leading a red infantry unit and could not search for treasure if there were enemy units adjacent to the hut. So when he was wounded, he was among his strongest soldiers with no enemy unit in sight. Why would he be captured by the enemy then?

Clarifying this point is essential as I my hero had to suffer a second wound for ill treatment since I couldn't pay the ransom at the end of the adventure.

Thank You

Interesting question. Not sure the official answer sorry serio.gif

I assumed it went to your opponent, the risk you take balanced by the power gained if you pull out something great. From a story perspective, it could be said that the trap was set by your opponent and was so nefarious that your Red Bannermen were unable to spring their leader or simply assumed him/her dead. Alternatively, the Wicked Witch could have caught him with magical guile and passed him off to your opponent for some component of spellcraft. There are a whole range of creative explanations for how he ended up a prisoner of your enemy. Get creative! gui%C3%B1o.gif

Heroes page 9, Searching for Hidden Treasures: "If the chest shows a trap, the Hero must take a casualty check rolling dice equal to the number shown."

Heroes page 6, Casualty Check Procedure: "When wounded, the Hero is removed from the battlefield and placed on the opponent's Victory Track."

Yes, your opponent gets a VP when your hero blows himself up.

Can this mean that maybe the creator of the game system didn't think about this possible situation?? <G> That should get a smile out of Richard for sure.happy.gif

Think of it we did!

Many Heroes were wounded by a traps or during recent Treasure Hunting adventure.

Creatures, Treasures, and more, OH MY!

Sounds like someone has been watching the Wizard of Oz of late (which happens to be celebrating it's 70 year this month!).
