I Scheduled two slots of wfrp3 for Feb. convention in Colorado

By Emirikol, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I Scheduled two slots of wfrp3 for Feb. convention in Colorado. I'm thinking the following issues for convention play:
1. Teaching the game to some. Since I won't be showcasing the game like at the the demo, I'm thinking it should be a lot easier.
2. Nobody's getting an original copy of any of the lose-able stuff.
3. I'll have a more concise action possibilities list and those little nit-picky rules that matter and probably a larger one-sided character sheet.

Any other thoughts?

Yes!

1. Also with premade characters, correct? The same ones that came with the demo or different?

2. How do my lady and I sign up ahead of time?

You probably want to plan to use some miniatures for the game, or make some additional ones. The ones provided in the game are nice ... but they only give basically one stand-up per "enemy" type. So, for example, if you have 4 Beastmen there is only 1 Beastmen standup. This is fine if you lump all 4 into a single group and tell the players it represents 4. You can do that with the abstract movement system. If you'd like them to be separate, you need to use different enemy stand ups. This isn't really an issue with humans, since there are a wide variety of human ones (and a couple elf and dwarf ones), but could be slightly confusing for a convention. Anyway, so I'd recommend either buying/using some approrpiate minis and use those instead of the stand-ups, or make some of you own stand-ups (photocopy the beastmen one, for example, and make it into a sort of sleeve to slip over another standup or something).

Also, if you would like to get some stand-ups for general use and don't already have a bunch, Litko Aerosystems is selling them in 'Jim's Experimental Section'. I forgot if I mentioned this company when we played the 3rd Ed Demo, but they are great to work with, even to make custome things (plastic counters, even 3D stuff) for you!

Check 'em out if you like:

I also bought replacement wound counters, corruption tokens, treasure/resource chits and burning city standups from them for Warhammer:Invasion!

The pre-reg deadline was yesterday and I submitted two slots. Friday night and saturday morning. I just checked and the Genghis Con website is down for updates now that all the pre-reg events are getting updated. Check back this afternoon after they get all the events up (today).

Lars, thanks for the post on the Litko stuff. You seemed to really like them at the Demo.

Your full name and contact information (i..e. name and e-mail address)
* Jay Hafner (hafner.jay@

Name of Game and/or System (D&D, Hero, Shadowrun, Cortex, etc)
* Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd Ed.

Title of Event (self-explanatory, right?)
* False Pretenses

Short "blurb" about your game (what can your players expect)
*The people of Schlaghügel disappeared five long years ago. Investigations turned up nothing, and the village was written off as a mystery. The “official” explanation claimed the people fled into the woods to escape taxes, but no one really believes this. When the subject comes up, the word “cursed” is most often heard, and a connection to the ancient circle “that should have been left alone.”

The best time(s) to run your event through the weekend (see below)
Sat 9a-1p, Fri 7p-11p

Whether the event is beginner (rules taught), intermediate (rules reminders are available), or advanced (you'd better know the rules as well as the GM does) Also, whether it's for "adult" audiences.
* Beginner (rules taught)

Whether characters are provided or not. If players are epxected to make their own characters, a link to the creation rules online is most helpful.
* Characters provided

* Maximum 5 players

Sounds great!

Do you know when the Denver Gamers Association website will allow us to pre-reg for this game (or games, if you are running multiple), or is this WAY too early?

I don't want to wait too long like I did for TactiCon! :-)

They should post something soon on their site for pre-reg.
