I realize that after playing for a year, I can't say that I'm a noob, however, it's never too late to ask an old question . . .

When battling Yig, all Investigators start Cursed ~ does that mean that a Blessed Investigator goes immediately to Cursed or the Blessing is discarded...?

The wording behind "blessed" and "cursed" can be confusing, as it's difficult sometimes to understand if it means "to hold the status of Blessed" versus "gains a Blessing card."

Whenever you see the wording, "[investigator] is cursed!" it means they gain a curse card. But if the recipient is holding a Blessing card when this happens, receiving the Curse card cancels both cards out, and the investigator is left with neither.

I realize that having a Curse card when Yig awakens means you're devoured, but in all other cases, remember that it means that you gain a new Curse card that replaces the one you have: this means that you do not roll to get rid of the Curse at the next upkeep, since this curse is brand new.
