The goal here is for Vader to use his token spending against Squadrons when available to rapidly drop tokens without spending the Intel Officer. He will then invest remaining dials into shield regeneration as his survival mechanism and last as long as possible with no more than one token, probably Brace if possible. The ultimate goal is for Vader to trade Devastator for 2-3 equally valuable ships, with surviving ships finished off by Demolisher and Insidious.

It probably won't win a serious tournament, but as a friendly match it should be fun to watch and experiment with. It might also help to preserve Vader, with ships getting nervous about giving him more firepower.

Darth Vader Commander: "While a friendly ship is attacking a ship, it may spend..."

Thanks for clarifying. Even so, I believe I can still dump Def Tokens willy-nilly while defending, so I believe I can still pull it off as a second activation in the early stages.

Oh, most definitely while defending. And of course, it is a legitimate strategy if you've already got more than enough ACCs on your initial roll to lock down the defense tokens you want, to switch out and Intel your own Reroll Defense Token...
