Any thoughts on whether this can cut the mustard in the Wave 8 meta? Or is it Wolfpack bait?

Three PS10 ships should do well - especially with BB8 Wes should help you handle Soontir quite well.
Poe may be an issue - if expecting a torp barrage, autothrusters will be worth their weight.
R2-D2 Wedge is the main weak spot - regeneration is all well and good but if three Jumpmasters line up on him, he ain't gonna be there to perform a green move next turn.
Maybe give wedge BB-8, wes R3-A2, and get thrusters on Poe. Wes can stop a torp shooting, whilst Wedge will have a chance to arc dodge.
Wes just trolls Contracted Scouts. I think you do decently against them, but it will taking some clever flying and some luck.
Interesting idea to downgrade R2D2 to get Thrusters on Poe. Do you think it is worth dropping R3-A2 to R4-D6 to get R2D2 on Poe? Also, would R7-T1 have a role to give all 3 repositioning options?
The don't really all have repositioning thought - Poe Dameron is so dependent on his focus token that boost is pretty much there to allow him to take autothrusters.
R7-T1 only works at medium -close range - not ideal against torpedo bombers. If you use him I think he's best on Blue Ace.
I have been playing variants of the list with mixed success. The one that seemed to have the most legs was VI/AT/R2D2 Poe, VI BB-8 Wes, and R2 Adaptability Wedge. I have done well against Aces, but I am having major issues with big ships (haven't faced Wolfpack).
As much as I enjoy having three PS10 X-Wings, I think I need blockers. Any suggestions on a Poe/Wes variant?
If you are going for blockers, it doesn't get much better than a prototype A-wing with Chardaan Refit for 15, or add autothrusters for 17. The Autothrusters version will almost never get hit by the primary turret of a contracted scout. That gives you 13 points for a Tala Squadron Z, swapping straight into Adaptability R2 Wedge's points.
Edited by AEIllingworthI love your idea, but i've made some variation. Drop Wes for Luke, i like him cause more difficult to hit.
Agreed, he's a harder target - but don't underestimate Wes' ability to mess people up by taking their tokens. Stripping a focus token off Soontir Fel or a Contracted Scout can both be game-changing - one turns a nigh-unhittable target into a feasible one - especially if it's Wedge following up - and the other is the difference between a 2-dice popgun and a super-modified 4-dice torpedo firing back.
I've told my friend to try, and since played myself:
3X PS10 (100)
Wes Janson (32) - X-Wing
Veteran Instincts (1), Targeting Astromech (2), Integrated Astromech (0)
Wedge Antilles (31) - X-Wing
Adaptability (0), Targeting Astromech (2), Integrated Astromech (0)
Poe Dameron (37) - T-70 X-Wing
Veteran Instincts (1), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2)
I like the idea of Wes with BB-8 being used as a counter to Soontir and Poe can also Boost to get into the same arc.
Wes does early, but the damage they offsets a bit. I think it has potential based on Astros.
R2d2 wedge simply doesn't last
Without consistent defensive modifiers, it'll still get ruined fairly trivially by even moderate firepower
Makes more sense to run r2d2 vi Luke who can at least take people looking at him funny without combusting. Him poe and wes make a surprisingly sturdy core
Still haven't had a chance to try variants of the list against too many meta lists. I had some success with a TLT Tactician K (R5P9 instead of R2D2 on Poe) as a blocker against triple Aces. However, I had issues against lists than can absorb damage while they burn down Wes.
I also ran the AT Proto/Tala variant against some casual lists and it seemed okay. I have to get better at flying the little guys and practice against legit meta lists.
I may go back to trying with Wedge or 28 point Jake (for end-game against U-boats) but as Fickle stated, without repositioning, Wedge implodes.
