My first time running a JM5K (strictly friendly game).I'd like to keep the 2 K's escorting a JM5K but I'm open to suggestions as to pilots/upgrades.


The thought with this list is Manny slow boating giving focuses to the mindlink team letting them use the boost. I also like the synergy of K4/UA giving manny a TL even when she donates a focus to the boys.


Thoughts?



Glitterstim is a bad idea on ships with Mindlink. Not only is it a bit redundant (because all of your ships have focus tokens all the time anyway), but the stress from glitter is especially bad since it affects all of your ships with Mindlink.

Let's go over the main issues with your list:

Manaroo is a cornerstone of any Mindlink strat. You should have Attanni on her as well, mainly for her ability.

Also, she shouldn't be a torpboat. That requires Deadeye and that you play her aggressively, without using her ability on your first turns. If, for any reason, you want her to be, one of the Plasma (or Proton, her PS is lower than BSAs, shield bonus damage might prove counter-intuitive in a focus fire situation) Torps should be Extra Munitions. Costs less for the same effect.

As long as we're in it, when you pick a TL from K4 and use Manaroo's ability, she doesn't get to keep the TL. Mind that.

Finally, a Jumpmaster should never have to full stop. With Attanni, I.Dampeners works against you, also.

Like mercurial said, Glitterstim with Attanni is a huge no-no. BSA don't and never will need it.

The build I provided gives Manaroo enough firepower to stand for herself, much more flying freedom and lets her keep some accuracy while supporting the BSA. Also, maintains the link, even if one ship burns.

P.S.: It just occurred to me that you might not have a 2nd JM5K for the 3rd Attanni. If that's the case, either Adaptability - Increase (to adjust PS with BSA), Adrenaline Rush or Determination are viable picks for Manaroo to ensure support. Hell, Crack Shot is fail-proof, if nothing else.
