For tournament play, rebels, no - imperials, maybe.

For casual play, yes.

Force awakens only, you'll have issues with upgrade card availability, the empire can get away with juke and comms relay. But you'll be missing things like vi/predator/push the limit, droids like r2 ,r2d2, plasma torpedoes, flechette torpedoes, modifications, primarily auto thrusters for high p.s. Pilots like Poe.

You can definitely make fun strong playable lists with the force awakens only packs, but you'll be missing variety. I'm not sure what other ships to expect, there weren't many in the movie, the tie s/f is the only force awakens fighter missing, I think.

Well, at the moment there are only 2 ships from the new movie. I'm sure it will change, but for the moment, you are looking at some limited ships. Still, you can have fun if you play more than just 100 pt death match.

You might be able to pull in another ship type or two to make it more interesting. Pull in a Lambda or K-wing or something.

This is the big one. With only a ship per side it is not enough to make a full game from it. Now of course you could try to so some sort of era but in reality you can't even say Future EU E-wings and TIE Defenders because the EU canon has been wiped. So until FFG starts putting more Resistance and 1^stOrder ships in the game we just have to throw those in with the rest of the game.

falcon+t70 is a fine list, and you can do nasty things with a jukeswarm or micro ace /fo pilots

Throw in the Falcon for the Resistance, go with a First Order swarm and use digital copies of the cards you need. You'll be more than viable.

Not really you are limiting yourself quite badly the first order only has the fo which is over costed and less efficient that the original tie fighter also all the ties that buff swarms come from the original trilogy, and of course youre at a firepower disadvantage.

The t-70 isn't as bad off but it's still less efficient than the t-65 lacks some of the best pilots and you're going to miss alot of astromech`s.

If you go against someone using a full range of ships you will get trounced pretty hard which is never fun.
