Giving Orders to Droids

By Amoeba Bait, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

G'day everyone,

In Special Modifications, the quirk Bad Listener adds two black dice to any roll to give orders to the droid.

When is it applicable to make suck rolls, and is is a Computers or a Persuasion roll to issue orders?

Would giving orders to a friendly droid or a droid owned by the party warrant a roll?

Cheers,

Depends on the Droid I would say.

Don't have Secial Mods yet, but on the flipside of this is the Speak Binary talent, wich adds Boost to ordering droids.

Also, issuing orders in general would require a Leadership roll.

Speak Binary talent, wich adds Boost to ordering droids.

Close but not quite, Speaks Binary gives a boost to whatever action you ordered them to do.

huh. would you look at that.

Which I imagine would apply 2 setback dice to anything the droid is asked to do; which is actually pretty much anything unless it does something off it's own initiative/free will.

Yeah, that quirk is pretty nasty. XD

Sounds like the Quirk is to be used rather like a Genie interpreting wishes, you can tell it what you want, but it's quirkly little brain has a fair bit of wiggle room. I rather expect Chopper on SW:R to have this quirk.

A great quirk for a PC droid, as it can be used to wiggle out of duties issued by superiors.
