damage cards?

By teeg123456, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I was wondering about the term discard? I have noticed some upgrade cards can't think of the card right now but some say you can remove this upgrade and then discard the face up damage and discard it without resolving what it says. When they say discard do the mean put it fave down against your hull or discard it back in the damage deck

Thanks for help

Neither.

Discarding a damage card means it is not assigned to the ship, and it goes into a face-up discard pile separate from your deck of un-drawn damage cards.

Wow I was way off in my interpretation of that

Thanks alot for your help

Your damage cards should be in one of three places:

1. In you undrawn but randomized damage deck.

2. Sitting on a ship that has been dealt damage.

3. Sitting in a discard pile face-up that is out of play and has no effect on the game.

Cards only move down the list although if there is nothing in 1 you take everything in 3 and shuffle them together to make a new 1. There are things that move cards from 1 to 3 skipping over 2 which is discarding a damage card before resolving its effects. There are some things that can remove a damage card on a ship (2) and put into the discard pile (3) but when a ship is destroyed all of the damage cards that were on it then move to the discard pile.
