Hello everybody!

I am going to make a character to DH tonight and after consulting my GM I am allowed to make a Navigator character. However, as the rules and powerlevel between RT and DH is a bit different I was hoping for som advice on how to make the conversion without upseting the game balance too much. Can anyone please give me som advice on how to manage this? What are the big issues that needs to be adressed before my navigator can play on the same page as the rest of the group?

Wait until the other characters arrive at 5k experience. That should more or less put you on equivalent footing.

Beyond that, skipping all the steps of the Origin Path aside from Homeworld and Career Path, and dropping the Navigator's starting characteristics by 5 (Rogue Trader characters start 5 points higher in all characteristics than Dark Heresy ones, accounting for a significant chunk of the xp difference) should go some way towards evening the playing field.
