Krutzbeck mini changing in German release of Treaty of Champions?

By talismanisland, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I just noticed that the German translation of Treaty of Champions was just mentioned on the Heidelberger Spieleverlag site -

But the cover is different to the US version.

I'm interested to know what that means for Krutzbeck (if anything!) :)

Hm... Normally the picture on the Box is the picture on the card right? .... Isn't one the picture Krutzbeck got specially for 2nd editionfrom and the other one from another game? (like Descent 1e or one of the other games he was part of?)

I am from Germany, so I am looking the shop site up now too... and I think it IS strange.... we never got a different art for the box before I think. I mean that couldn't possibly be a mistake, because they would have to create the new box art by themself if they don't use the one from FFG, right?

Yeah it's really strange. The picture of "Krutzbeck" is not the one he had in 1st edition or the conversion kit, so idk how it got on the cover.

The change to the skeleton archers as the main picture however, is imo a good move, because they seem to be the biggest thematic draw in to this H&M pack. They might not be the strongest monster, but I can say that I was very pleasently surprised they are in there, when this pack was gifted to me a while back.

I really like the new version of the Skeleton Archers. Yes, the master loses Undying, but the Reanimate ability is great protection against a multitude of area of effect attacks, hero abilities like Andira's, hazardous terrain, etc. making them an excellent choice in a multitude of situations. They have usurped goblin archers as my ranged snipers of choice, capable of downing just about any hero if they devote their full attention to it.

Oooh.... it seems that someone might have made a mistake -

So, who is the other guy???

Do you think the guy with the single axe could be Brother Glyr?

I don't think so... He doesn't have this.... strange look like brother Glyr. (They could change that... but who knows?)

Also, Brother Glyr has a hammer.

But most importantly that strange look in his eyes... and his big nose... ;)

Maybe he's an upcoming bad guy group figure then?

You mean like a mad axe wielding dwarven warrior who wants to destroy the heros? .... I kinda like that :P

looks like an old unused artwork in fact, don't you think so ?

Too bad because I think it is a nice looking Dwarf.

Yes, I love these guys, the Reanimates monster group (wish they would've gone with a different name) that compliments them well and the Kobolds.

My recent games as Overlord have giving me an undying hatred for one Miss Andira Runehand...

I'm sure some of the D1Ed Heroes have different weapons to go along with their new clothes, hairstyles and faces.

Mordrog comes to mind, didn't he use to wield a big two handed axe with a skull? If it's the one I'm thinking of h

it was pretty bad ass!

Regardless, it's probably just old artwork that got changed, but I'd still like to add that mini to my collection. Can never have enough Dwarves!
