So things are going well for me and my gaming group, and I've now talked another group of my friends into trying the game and will be running a campaign with them soon. Two of them aren't big Star Wars fans, and when I asked them what species they would be interested in playing, one of them said, i want to be Cthulhu. I told him that the species most like Cthulhu in the game were Quarrens, and that is what he should go with. But since then I've been thinking about making a custom Cthulhu based species for him. My first idea was to just keep the base of Quarrens and change a few things around. First with characteristics, I like the 1, 3, 2s setup but I'm not sure intellect is the best place for the 1 in regards to Cthulhu, but I'm also not sure where to move it too either. As far as abilities, amphibious makes perfect sense, but I'm not sure about the free rank in negotiation. Probably make more sense for coercion. Now the ink spray would have to go, but what to replace it with. Cthulhu is known for driving people insane, so I was trying to think of something along those lines, but everything I came up with felt too power.
So that is where I'm at, characteristics are ify, needs a better suited ability, should I just scrap the Quarren and start from scratch? What do you guys think?
