Ok i see we are getting really hardcore here, yea im 1mm larger, i need to check all my bases and take the smallest one...come on fly casual. As for the QC come on they are not half centimeter larger, im sure ffg, does not enforce nanometer-grade QC due to one single thing: costs. And im perfectly fine having to play with 1, hell even 2mm larger base if that is whats keeping price range at the same level. As long as quality of ships themselves does not degrade (and for now its still perfect) i dont care.
Wave 8 large bases are bigger than previous waves
You ain't seen nothing yet. Behold the wonderous rocking chair that came with my TAP.
That should be something you can request a replacement for... it is essentially broken.
Hey, my Lambda was like that! Yeah, I could ask for a replacement, but I'm just waiting for those beautiful colored bases and pegs...
Good find and very interesting.
However I don't think this 1mm is material given the amount of human error involved in a typical game. Also given that the minor size discrepancy can provide both a benefit (move further) and a detriment (larger target) I think we can safely ignore this one.
I dont think the variances not base size is anywhere near as significant as the variance in printed firing arcs on the chits. I've returned three chits from different sets as the firing arc lines didn't meet the corners, over two mil into the front of the chit in some cases. The effect that has on your arc at range three is huge and I see people playing with defected chits in this way all the time

if it lives that long. 10 turns???The large base size should be uniform across all waves.
edit: Now you may be wondering why this is a big deal. If the base is 1 mm larger, over the course of ten moves, it will be 1 cm farther across the table than a smaller large size base. This is huge in a game where positioning is important.
Without bumping.
