I find this obviously appropriate for dogfights:

Not metal, but you could add most of the Top Gun OST here, like:

It was the very second LP I owned, so don't judge me. ![]()
EDIT: max 2 media in each post... ![]()

S&M is the ultimate in metal for me. I adore fully orchestrated versions of brilliant songs. Orchestras make every group better.

I can't think through metal. I strongly prefer something that's stimulating but not distracting--typically classical or instrumental/orchestral.
When deciding whether or not to spend the focus token:
When A-wings, StarVipers, or Defenders are brought to the table, and my opponent laughs at my poor taste in ships:

If you are not distracted by listening classical music, you are not listening it right.
(yeah, this metalhead has classical formation)
Ahhhh... Youth...
Let an old timer show you how to metal.
This is heavier than the star destroyer Rey goes shopping for junk in.
Generally I go for Ace Combat 4 through 6 soundtracks. This particular track I use for my 4x Scimitar Squadron:

What I mean is this: if I want to get in the right frame of mind for a workout or a fight, then sure Fuel is a good choice. But if I'm trying to concentrate on solving a problem (research design, differential equation, X-wing, etc.) I listen to Debussy or something.
...I don't think I know anyone who believes that, hell yeah, Satie's Gymnopedies are just the thing to get your adrenaline flowing.
This, and pretty much anything by Two Steps From Hell in general. This one in particular is something I have to avoid turning on in the car, or things start to get... speedy...

When you said "stimulating" I was thinking in something different than head banging.
But you know a couple of French musicians, so I must have simply misunderstood.
PS: For adrenaline flowing, I recommend Mussorgsky, Dvorak, Berlioz, Holst, Wagner, Shostakovitch, Beethoven, etc... ![]()

Metal.

Until just now (thanks, Wikipedia!), I actually thought Satie was Austrian.
ACE COMBAT 5!!!!!! AHHHH.
Yes. Everything from there. Into the Dusk, 15 Years Ago, Ending, Supercircus!
Also, I've had a good time with the Interstellar soundtrack.
It's almost always Metallica when I play, for whom the bell tolls when I wake up, creeping death during the car ride, especially if I'm playing b wings and I have an unconscious habit of breaking out into disposable heroes during games. I've been known to reference drowning pools bodies when my ships take 1 damage as well.
I like me some bobaflex too, especially anything off "hell in my heart" I like to play "bury me with my guns on" during setup followed by the rest of the album in normal order.
Edited by catachanninjaFirst of all I need some attack on titan to get me going. It really does work with everything!!!
And an obvious one, for us brits anyway.
To many battle of Britain films with spitfires flying to that.
Edited by Vixen Icazanot metal but still kind of cool....
If I'm going to be honest (It could happen!) I don't put music on when I play X-Wing. But if I did I'd have to play 'Live and let die' as my sound track. God knows it gets me driving faster than might be considered appropriate.
Here are a couple songs in my typical gaming playlist that I think really compliment X-Wing... or any fast-paced video game. (these are perfect for tearing across the wasteland in Mad Max)
Xilent - Boss Wave

Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal

Xilent - Boss Wave: I actually preferred the outro's "videogame" music than the main clip (too polluted).
Halestorm - Shoot to Thrill: great cover, but a cover still.
Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal: Heavy Metal was a weird animation... Lucky I didn't watch it when I was very young (it would have really messed me up).
These are the guys that started it for me.
After the loss if Dimebag, FFDP came on the scene and filled that void.
Not my favorite song of theirs but still some good Metal.
