Hi Runebound Friends,
one question: do you know where I could find characters with the skills like Lore, Endurance, Spot? Are they in a board expansion or maybe in the character decks? Thanks...

Hello seba74!
I have all of the Runebound expansions and I can't at all remember which that have Lore, Endurance and Spot as skills for tests came with which expansions. But what I can tell you is that you will not find any Characters in the 'character decks'. Those decks (purple boxes) contain cards that you use with a Character not actual characters themselves. Maybe they might add these attributes but I can remember I only ever used them once.
If I have time (that means, if I remember ) tonight I will pull out Runebound and see if the expansion symbols make it easy enough for me to get you this info.
I'm currious, why does this matter to you? What caught your interest?
IIRC (and I might not) Lore was added in Sands of Al-Kalim. As such, the only heroes/companions who would have it are from that expansion. Not sure about the other two.
Hi Friends,
I have got some expansion cards where these skills are tested (e.g lore, spot, endurance) and in the main set I didn't find any characters with those skills. I know that I won't get any new character in character decks but I thought there are maybe some talents or maybe you could develop your figure by adding new skills. I see that the only way to get new figures is to buy a big expansion. Why is it important ?- if you have an artifact or encounter to test e.g.lore it's a little bit disheartening when you don't even have any possibility to play such a character and this card becomes unplayable for you. I'am thanking everybody for your help.

The card isn't unplayable without the skill. You roll 2d10 and add the respective ability score (Mind, Body or Spirit) either way. If you happen to have the skill you get an additional bonus (usually +2) but you can still attempt the roll without it.

Sure, you can still just test the attribute without any skill mods, but e.g. concerning an artifact like ''sphere of protection'' (for 9 golds): test magic, lore 15, this card is less playable as it could be, in other words: nobody will use it, becasue it's better to buy something else for that price). Besides, the game seems to be a little incomplete - without the characters and all of their skills tested. So, one has to get more characters...

I disagree that such a card would be used less. Certainly it wouldn't be discarded at my table just because no one had Lore. Having the Skill on your hero is just an extra +2, which is not that much when you're already rolling 2d10 and adding your Mind value. It doesn't impact the usability of the card that much. In fact, to my mind the card is perfectly usable regardless and if your hero happens to have the Lore skill that's just a bonus. I guess it's just a matter of perspective; glass half full and all that.
At the end of the day, though, you could make the same arguement for any skill. Tinker is a skill from the base game. If none of the heroes drawn have the Tinker skill does that make all cards with a Tinker test unplayable for this game? It sure doesn't to me.
You convinced me. I was to much concentrated on the dark side. Anyway, I'll try to get some big expansion with new characters
