I'm Riding Solo

Don't let Paragoombaslayer see this. He'll go off again.

It doesn't have Predator or C-3PO.

It can go wherever it wants to but it's essentially just a Patrol Leader with some fancy ****. Cards like Navigator, Stay on Target, Boba's Imperial ability are how hypermobility should be done, having downsides and not just boosting and modifying your offense and defense anyways.

I don't hate Patrol Leaders or WSF's with Outrider and HLC slapped on them.

It's a troll build, not something actually very effective. If I had to fly a Falcon I'd probably do something like this or go for a Lando build, at least try and make it do something interesting.

The mighty Goomba has spoken! All praise be to the fabled Goomba of legend, destroyer of turrets, bringer of justice!

Hmm I thought this was going to be a Princess Leia joke .....

Ok, then I'm missing something. In your previous posts on PWTs I just remember them as being completely against PWTs in general. I've only been on these forums for about a year and haven't dug through the archives too deeply so I'm curious as to what you'd consider an acceptable build.

Since I don't play competitively, I've viewed single PWT lists as just another opponent. Difficult to kill but not impossible. On the rare occasions that I've flown them it's very apparent that the right cards are necessary for their survival. Two PWT lists, IMO, are just stupid. Especially when flown nose to tail alongside one edge. I do think that some of the game mechanics become too strong when applied to Rebel PWTs, like R2-D2 crew. I don't think the playtesters realised how the corner case of no shields and no hull damage would make the 1300 almost immortal.

As mentioned above, I'd like to hear your ideas on acceptable PWT builds.

I've always wanted to try Keyan this way. He sheds the stress by shooting, but he's only PS 7. Maybe pair him with Han or Wedge with decoy?

You mean like slap C-3P0 or predator on it so that it gets better defense and offense capabilities? Or throw in Lando.

I've been running a Keyan list lately, and the stress-shedding is fun. I don't shy away from the red maneuvers at all as the stress is really like a focus token when Keyan attacks and rolls an eyeball.

Defensively, I put the title on him and run C-3PO as crew. Helps give him some survivability and with Veteran Instincts, he becomes PS 9. Since yesterday though, I've had the thought of switching out VI and putting Rage in it's place. Most of the TLT, U-Boat, Robots, swarm list, etc. are all less than Keyan's PS 7, so I think Rage could work.

All I know is, the best part of this game is the getting to play these lists we come up with. Love me some X-Wing.

Firstly, I don't hate 2 dice turrets.

I don't draw a distinction between 'Primary Weapon Turrets' and Super Dash. Super Dash's range 1 doughnut hole is meaningless even when faced with higher PS Acewings. Large ship Boost/BR carries you so far and you can move wherever the hell you want to. Just fly in a random manner.

Also, I don't mind there being no-skill lists in the game. What I object to are when those no-skill lists are top tier. You shouldn't be rewarded for displaying zero skill with constant wins, as harder to play but more effective if played well lists should beat you.

With a Delete a Ship a Turn RAC or Fat Falcon or Dash, you can just move where you please and blow people out of the sky. With a Navigator Stay on Target Falcon you gain ease of use and cheese but at the cost offense, how it should be. But Predator, C-3PO, title, EU Falcon gains all of that **** and pretty much has a level of hypermobility that's just as good if not better than Stay on Target Navigator. So you maintain that level of offensive brokenness while getting the broken ease of use cheese card novelty hypermobility that SoT and Navigator give you. Same thing with a DaSaT RAC with Predator, Gunner, Vader, Yssanne, and EU.

An acceptable fat turret list would be something like Lando with Weapons Engineer, EU, C-3PO, and VI Corran. Not sure if that was the exact build but I saw it at a Store Championship in the Turretwing era and it was kind of cool. You were rewarded for flying the turret well because you had to use Lando's ability to give Corran a second action so there was some skill involved.
