Hi all, new to the forum and to the game but I've been eagerly waiting to get my hands on Special Mods since i heard about it early this year. Unfortunately none of the stores here seem to have any information on when they might receive it, even the bigger more reliable ones. Is this normal for poor forgotten Australia or just for anywhere outside the U.S? I've noticed the book depository also still hasn't received any stock and I started to think that maybe an easter release might cause some problems....just wondering when I could get my hands on a copy?

On these forums, that issue is referred to as the “Australia Tax”.

However, I don’t think that it’s limited to just Australia. I believe that any place outside of the Continental US has the same problem, albeit perhaps to a greater or lesser degree.

If you want to order from a US supplier that has copies already in stock, like MiniatureMarket.com or CoolStuffInc.com or maybe Amazon.com, and then pay them to ship that internationally along with all the import duties and fees, you should be able to do that.

But then you’d pay a lot more that way than if you let your local distributors have their copies delivered to them by FFG via a boat to Australia, and then pay your normal local taxes and fees.

As a fellow Australian, I hear you. In my experience, it's pretty normal for us to be either last in the release window or get slapped with a $40+ shipping and handling fee.

If you're in Brisbane or along the East Coast, send me a message and I can link you to some great stores that don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping.

I managed to find ONE single retailer in Germany, who, supposedly, had one in stock. Seemingly, it's on the way now. But, I had to use my two ranks of Black Market Contacts: ~ US$ 47.-

Managed to snag one from a UK retailer on Amazon.de for 28,99€ , was listed under toys.

Supposedly it will arrive at the end of next week, at the latest.

I don't know, I am from Germany too and for Special Modifications I have to say, that is was available rather quickly and it is also not hard to find online. I preordered mine in a german online shop for RPGs and it should arrive today, I also paid less than 30€. In my experience it usually takes about 2weeks to get the book here after the US release, which is not that bad.
