Swag 'n' Brag

By jhox, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi all,

I've now finished my own tournament run for the first quarter of the year - seven tournaments in five cities. I've seen loads of awesome write-ups on these forums, but thought we ought to have a space for expressing our smugness.

Mine are below. Not actually too impressive - a lot of the tournies I attended only had small numbers of attendees, so top four prizes were frequently guaranteed. There's a few multiples in some cases - a lot of TOs were happy to give out extra copies of "Top 32" prizes, and some even gave out extra unused prizes from previous tournament packs.

This represents an extended haul from three tournament runs:

8 Wave 1 tournaments from July (?) to November last year with results including two wins, three seconds, and a third.

6 Wave 2 tournaments from November last year to January this year with results including two wins, two thirds.

5 Store Championships from February to March this year with results including three wins (and a dead last!).

Tournament sizes ranged from 10-20 with either side of 15 being a rough average. So basically, I'm proud as ****.

All winter kit gear (squadron tokens, and x-wing card) weren't won but come from a friend who bought a kit (as there's only been one winter kit tournament in Sydney), likewise the Massing at Sullust alt-art is from Ebay (no official MoS events were held in Australia).

The lovely ISD is from a pseudo-MoS event that was held when Wave 2 released in Australia, and the large dice is my reward as surviving as a bounty across the latest tournament (one player is elected the bounty, if you defeat the bounty you become the bounty, and the last player holding the bounty wins the prize).

Unseen are several spares that were given away to help bump some of those keen on the game.

Here's mine so far

My first tournament is at the end of April.

I've won 1 Spring Kit 2015, 2 Summer Kits 2015, 1 Massing of Sullust 2015, 1 Store Championship 2016 and taken 3rd or better in all other events for a tournament record of 14-2.

I am looking forward to getting to some Winter Spring and Summer 2016 kits as well as Regionals.

I bought all of the stuff I wanted....or traded. Not a tourney player, but I wanted the stuff...

I've been to one tournament. I did ok, but twicw I had ships limp away at one health that would have swung me a bunch more points.

I've been running the tournaments and leagues rather than dedicating play-time to winning them...

... So I've got a bunch of TIE Fighters and X-Wings in Alt-Art...

... and a friend donated his (additional) Regional Range Tools as my Toddler snapped my cardboard one in half...

Here is my six weeks worth of battling....

and my son's t rex... ;)

No worries - it was more about the Brag to your Swag after all :D

Feel free to post those beautiful squadrons I am playing with! hehe...it took me hours to figure out how to post this one pic! I am a luddite extreme! :)

Well, I don't have the great pics, as I didn't take a bunch of Completeds - mostly they were WiPs :D

But I also don't know what you were flying...

The Imperial One is especially bad... Out of Focus for a quick pic... You can't make out the Flames on the top of Mauler Mithel's Cockpit, or the Blood Red Imperial Symbol on the Side Panels of Howlrunner.

My boys! That's them :)

Fine job indeed and they made their opponents weep :)

Individually painting Red Squadron 1-through-6 was an interesting experience :D
