I could see a timeline where Wave 9 is announced at AdeptiCon, Imperial Veterans drops at GenCon, and -- optimistically -- Wave 9 for Christmas.
Of course, if Wave 9 contains anything from Rogue One, all bets are off as to when it gets announced.

No. That is to allow the new schedule to get on the correct rotation for the Star Wars track.
I doubt Wave 9, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have something to reveal.

Not really. The Window between Wave 6 release and 7 announcement was only a few weeks, and that was the longest there had been since Wave 3 release and 4 announcement. It's about time to see what's next. Typically comes quite soon after the last wave hits the shelf.

I would normally agree, but I am amazed at how well they have made some truly awful ship designs look good in recent releases, so I'm up for pretty much anything at this point.

Historically, it varies. Wave 6 was announced well before Wave 5 hit stores, 8 was announced shortly before 7 did(right?). Conversely, Wave 7 was announced a couple months after Wave 6 hit, and there was a pretty sizable gap between the release of Wave 3 and the announcement of Wave 4. That said the gaps have been trending smaller so we'll see.

yeah unfortunately being tied to the "Mouse" comes with thick strings. i wonder if FFG is even allowed to release pre movie ships and only allowed to push the new Disney movie or cartoon stuff?? as was mentioned earlier? hope not..
Hope the tournament is smooth, thankfully flying in a day early cause I wanted some rest and possibly go explore the Chicago sites, the none get shot in the face ones.
Now if there is a announcement for more X-wing stuff, that would just be the icing on the cake.
If i had to guess I would think it would be a scum epic ship or a repaint of something or maybe both as in a repainted scum Gozanti...
I honestly hope they wait a little with announcing the new wave if it isn't going to show up until November anyway. I'd rather see them guarantee an August release of a Jabba Junk (or a Hutt Hydrofoil or whatever it's called) with some more Scyk pilots.
I think we'll see wave 9 and ALSO the "REST" of wave 3 for Armada. I would have thought Imperial Assault's new wave but that already got released so that's probably it. Oh.. and maybe some other announcement. Maybe some new stuff outside of a wave.

Point of order, Disney bought LucasFilm in 2012, less than two months after X wing was first released. Disney has been involved since Wave 2.
Second, yes, I would absolutely expect that the majority of releases moving forward will be related to the new movies and TV series. Maybe not all, but the majority.

IF FFG does it it will be a new boxed set game for STAR WARS ROUGE ONE... just like we got TFA refresher for the main game around the holidays.
Tim already kinda hinted at a BIG Deal coming late this year... so dat might be it.

I agree, possibly an epic announcement, it's a game release that is pretty easy to saddle up next to a veterans pack.
