Hey guys, I know it's an easy mistake to make, but can we try to call the Attack Shuttle the Attack Shuttle and the TIE Phantom the TIE Phantom? When we call the Attack Shuttle the Phantom it can create confusion. I'm guessing the AS will develop some kind of slang to differentiate it better.

Not a big deal, and I'm certainly not trying to start some kind of fight, just asking for a little more clarity.

You're right, we should refer to the Attack Shuttle by it's proper name, rather than its title. Calling a YT the Falcon or Outrider, or Slave 1, isn't a big deal because there's no other ships with that name. But with two different phantoms you at least need some context to know which one is which.

While AS overlaps with Advanced Sensors I think the context should be clear enough most of the time that it won't matter. I like that one, its pretty simple.

Not gonna lie, there have been a couple of times where I have to go back and reread to check which one is being talked about.

We could call the Attack Shuttle the Super Turd or some other highly inappropriate reference to the Ghost pooping it out.

Yeah, when I saw the topic "best time to pop the phantom," my first thought was, "after it decloaks, silly."

I think it will work itself out eventually.

When they first announced the Ghost and the Phantom, i remarked on the naming problem. Immediate reaction on this forum was that it is not going to be a problem. Nevertheless in a number of recent threads there were some sloppy phantom designations, where it was not immediately clear which ship is meant. Someone suggested TIE/ph, but that is imho stupid, its better to consequently use attack shuttle or some good abbreviation.

The worst thing about the Phantom/Phantom problem? The Attack Shuttle is one of 4 shuttles in the game.

I've been referring to it as the Shuttle (and the lambda shuttle as just the Lambda). The TIE Phantom is an entrenched name, and what else are you really going to call it except the Phantom?

Or we could just call all ships what they are... it's an attack shuttle so we call it an attack shuttle. Tie phantom is a Phantom so we call it a phantom. Yt-1300 is YT-1300 unless it takes the title... same with Starviper and Firespray. Why people insist on calling every Firespray "Slave 1" is baffling... everyone doesn't call the HWK-290 the "Moldy Crow" and few refer the the Starviper as the "Virago" and no one calls a Scyk with an HCL the "Heavy Scyck Cannon".

Coming as someone ashamed of their hometown for occasionally holding KKK rallies, it is possible to be both reasonable and annoyed at seeing racial pejoratives in a friendlier setting, even when a more innocent meaning is intended.

Also, telling blatant racists to grow up is a great way to get shot.

And we will call Zeb Scooby, Sabine is Daphnie, Ezra is Shaggy, Chopper is Velma and Kanan is Fred. (Since Freddy Prinze Jr. both voice acts Kanan and was Fred in the Scooby Doo Movie.)

Same here, only Fred drove, but that was because you couldn't let the women drive in the 60s/70s and Shaggy was always high (he did talk to his dog & was always snacking). Maybe the "Ghost" could be painted up as the Mystery Machine and the "Phantom" could be painted/called Scrappie Doo.

Wookiepedia has the "Attack Shuttle" Phantom listed as a VCX-series auxiliary starfighter which appears to be a sort of optional equipment package since it's made by CEC, same as the VCX-100 itself, but I second using Scrappy Doo to refer to the Attack Shuttle just 'cuz it's funny

This is actually what I think would be a perfect name for it because it has a rather strong resemblance to the "puddle jumpers" from that other show. Similar size, equally ridiculous internal space/lack of room for actual components (let alone a powerplant), wings that fold out from flush with the body (a pretty non-typical design in Star Wars), similar overall usage, best of all it's unlikely there will be another "puddle jumper" in this game...

Can I get a second on nicknaming the Phantom/attack shuttle a "puddle jumper"?
