101 Point Lists

So over the Easter period me and a few mates have been playing casually quite a bit - coming up with fun lists without any hint of competitiveness (that comes back next week when the spring kit tournaments start up).

What I seem to be managing a lot of is coming up with lists that are 101 or 102 points (with literally nothing that I can or want to cut out of it), and it's heartbreaking; the following list is, I think one of my favourites that I ended up proxying in the x7 title in just to make the damned list legal:

So, anyone else got any lists that are just one or two points too many, whether they be competitive or casual? Something you really wish you could play with but had to ditch something you wanted (or play a 101 point game, because why not?).

101 points of sadness.

The 100 point limit is the line where if you cross it with your build, you failed. 1 point doesn't seem like much, but if you start there what other rules do you intend to ignore in the future? Games function because of their rules, not in spite of them. But hey, it's your house right?

I'm really only down on it because it is a bad habit to get into if you ever intend to play with people outside your family and friends.

I'm always really happy when I come up with an idea that fits into the 100 points, and yeah, I've had lists come in over but I find a way to fit them in.

There is always a way to do it, you just have to make sacrifices.

I have made a lot of 101-103 point lists, and there is absolutely nothing that can be taken off without losing the synergy of the list. That's part of the challenge of the 100 points. I don't have any of those saved, as they were completely abandoned.

Cluster Missiles love N'Dru. N'Dru already has the magic monkey. This list is viable, it just needs an ordnance swap, or heaven forbid shooting at the same time as Rebel Scum...

also if you do both adapt and Cluster, you can squeeze a xx-23 tracer on one of the BSS with chimps and allow the other BSS' or your aces to acquired TL's after having either killed their target or set up to switch targets for follow-up

Adaptability doesn't really do much for Xizor though. I think I'd rather run him at PS7 so that I can activate him and N'Dru in whichever order is better.

Cluster Missiles are alright on N'Dru but he doesn't get a reroll with them and Guidance Chips only work once a round. A 5 dice attack with reroll, focus, and Guidance Chips that ignores evade tokens will put some damage on just about anything in the game. Crackshot makes it really likely to be able to push through 3-4 damage. I've found it's even worth it to fire off his homing missile if he doesn't get his extra die for keeping his distance.

I dunno man, I think this may be a hidden gem. I think you definitely should tinker with it and get it onto a table.

Scum Z-95s start at PS1. I had initially put this list together for the first tournament I was headed to that I expected to run into a bunch of 4xTLT squads. Having PS3 Z-95s in this squad almost guarantees at least one dead PS2 Y-Wing before it can shoot. A good round for two TLTs can drop PS1 Z-95s before they attack.

I'll probably give the list with N'Dru toting Clusters a shot if it looks like lower agility, higher hit point ships are making a comeback.

Well I know somebody just got a brand new flying IP brick with tons of HP and no greens, I would love to see little N'Dru squib that hulk like a dirty shirt!
