Random Squadron Pilot (generic)
Instead of a turret and torpedo slots, it has 3 bomb slots.
Oh, and it´s a Y-Wing, of course.

Nonunique astromechs cost 2 less. (cmon targetting astro!)
Reducce the cost of your (T) to 0.
When a card tells you to discard your TL, gain a TL.
with this, 4 rookiees are the same price as 3 x7 Deltas, (with 16 points for both sides to get interesting PS and card upgrades) and with pure jousting, should be able to alpha 1 defender, and joust the other two to a near-draw.
Edited by RakaydosI wouldn't mind seeing Norra from Aftermath as a Y Pilot, preferably with an ept. Her ability could be like Fel's but with Evade tokens instead of focus
Whatever else it has, it should include a rectangular dish for the YT-1300. ![]()
If this was mentioned earlier, my apologies as I did not see it (in a quick scan, that is).
We have "Hutch" already, his name is Dutch Vander.Davish Krail, Tyree and Hutch.
Edit: and even Krail's name is uncertain, of course!

Extra Munitions and Bomb loadout let you have three uses of a Bomb while allowing you to keep the turret. Not much gained there.
So what new Y pilots would you like to see and what abilities would they have?
Leia: A variant of her crew card ability.
Farlander: copy/paste
Pops and Tyree (ability-wise, no idea)
Norra Wexley (again, no idea)
Generic Y with elite slot
Canonically, the Y-Wing pilots in the movie are Tyree, Pops and Hutch. There may have been a Dutch, but he is not on screen. We have "Hutch" already, his name is Dutch Vander.Davish Krail, Tyree and Hutch.

While that may be true of the movie, it is also a possible mispronunciation, and has since then been regarded as Dutch. So I highly doubt they will ever make a Hutch card. Even the Wookiepedia entries are Dutch, with a D, though they do mention that Hutch was said or heard.

oh right torpedoes
yeah actually that's pretty dumb
but it's exactly as dumb as a system slot discounted at 4 points, so maybe it'll work after all

I'm sorry, but they are one in the same, look up Hutch on the wookiee, and you won't find anything.

Dutch was actually the flight leader... which is why I find it very dumb for "pops" to tell him to stay on target when he was supposed to be in command... the only thing that ever bugged me from the original movie.
Yes, because an older, more experienced subordinate stabilizing an uncertain commander is totally unheard of.

He's actually trying to get him to focus on the job at hand; i.e. perform your **** attack run and let me worry about the fighters.
Which has always made me think that if Pops does appear in the game as a pilot, his skill should have something to do with stress and TLs. Something along the lines of "If a ship in R1 spends a TL, if you are unstressed you may receive a stress token for that ship to reacquire a lock on the same target. That lock may be spent during the same attack."
Turns him into a good wingman for Ordnance strikes and (I think) thematically represents what he was trying to achieve with Dutch in ANH. PS 7 perhaps? 24pts? (Puts him right between Dutch and Horton.)

That´s not a bad idea, actually.
Well, I named my ideas for Pops on a previous page, so what about Tiree?
I think that to keep the vets from the movies thematic, they should synergize with each other. Just look at Garven Dreis and Dutch Vander. Same pilot skill, you can choose which one is gonna go first. Dutch target locks, gives the TL to Dreis. Dreis shoots and spends a focus, gives it to Dutch, to maximise his attack potential. Now that´s teamwork. I would like this to see with the upcoming pilots. They worked as a team during the trench run, so I think their abilities should be cooperative.
Thinking more about Pops, he could have a nice support ability like "During activation phase, you may choose another friendly ship at range 1-2. If that ship has any stress tokens, you may assign any number of those tokens to you. Then, recieve an evade token."
Or something like that. You know, great support character and all that. Stay on target ![]()
A Rebel Yorr would be nice.
Pops was also a coward (or rather left his wingman/leader out to dry)... he was behind Dutch to cover him, but yet Vader shoots Dutch - the one in front.
So either Vader is a good enough shot to shoot the front one all along (so could have blasted Luke instead of Biggs and Wedge, Garven Dreis, and the other Red Squad guys, and in the Ywings case (Tiree). I do believe that Vader is a good enough shot, but maybe not in such confined spaces, and if he is so good, then why did he bother to shoot all the others first.
Or maybe Pops pulled out ofthe trench while telling Dutch to stay on target... remember we see Pops get shot down ABOVE the trench...so he certainly pulled out of it.
Specter Squadron Y-Wings ps 6 + ept
Specter Squadron upgrade, enemies do not gain +1 attack at range 3, Specter Squadron Y-Wings count blanks as focus. Gain cannon slot, must equiped A4 upgrade. Gold may equip.
Specter Leader "Dutch" ept ps 7 may count heavy laser as primary attack or allow 1 Gold or Specter Squadron pilot to do so at range 1.
Golden Elite: gain 1 ept, must epuip A4.
Y-Wing Composite Super Laser range 5-7, 7 attack die, must have 3 Y-Wings equiped with this weapon. All three must be at range 1 and at same heading. Two forfit all attacks during combat phase. Agianst epic ships all areas not stuck by attack gain three stress.
Purple Squadron Y-Wing ps 5,
Triple Royal, Purple Squadron Only, must equip A4. After attacking with primay and turret, you may fire a torpedo weapon.
The Purple Wraith ps 8 must equip A4, may equip 1 or as many as all cards with the words stealth, jammer, blocker, cloak, disruptor, scrambler. As a free action may activate as many as these cards as wanted in a turn. If more than 1 is activated during the free action, the next turn activated cards are lost.
S3 upgrade, may equip gunner, ion weapons may keep two dice in their damage results. Add 1 shield, remove 1 hull from Y-Wing base stats.
Y-Wing Heavy Bomber, double torps and bomb capasity, cant equip cannon.
S3T3 titile upgrade* Ion cannons do not discard any hits or crits rolled.
S3B titile* Blaster turret, Blaster turrets gain a free focus at start of combat phase. Can only deploy blaster type turrets.

You see Pops leaving the trench right before he got shot...
You also see that they were flying side by side rather than in single file (no sense in hiding their numbers)

Pops pulls out of the trench after Vander gets shot. Start at the 7 minute mark:

No, just no. Your proposals are too expensive; too wordy; too prescriptive. Speaking frankly, they're terrible.
Not to say the least that Y-Wings don't actually need a "fix" (god I hate that word). They are perfectly viable as either a turret or ordnance carrier. If you're trying to fly them as dogfighters/jousters, then you're playing them wrong (not to mention completely ignoring what the Y-Wing was all about thematically).
It would be nice to see some more Y-Wing pilots, especially with an EPT slot. But that's all it needs.
