Greetings,
I love Descent. I have played the original campaign, trollfens, LoW, SoN, and am working through Heirs of Blood....
I used to play RPGs but can't play them now due to time constraints and lack of a playgroup. Having said this, I am so glad that I found Descent. The tactical combat is really awesome and the grid/map miniatures part is better than what I could come up with as DM with pathfinder and dnd....
But, Descent is not an rpg... I miss the exploration and story development part of rpg play
Besides the new app and the co-op expansions, does anyone have any homebrews that add exploration and storytelling?
I guess I would like to have a feeling that we are searching for an answer and finding it... the fluff text does this for us, but is there a way to make the heros work for it a little more?
Maybe an expanded campaign phase?
I saw in 1e road to legend (I never played it), that there was a big world board also...
Could I homebrew descent into a runebound type map where the heros do quests to discover what is going on and get powerful weapons, etc...
Does this make sense? Again, the published campaigns are awesome, I just feel like the story and exploration are handed to the heros if they can hold on through the quests....
