Actually the empire turned into the first order. The alliance became the new republic.
Proof that Prequel ships will be in Wave 9.
...however none of this is really relevant
Shhhhhh, let them have their moment.
That's what people don't get.
Who cares that The Republic turned into The Empire? The Rebellion made extensive use of both Seperatist AND Republic technology!
Actually the empire turned into the first order. The alliance became the new republic.
A small part of the Empire turned into the First Order. The majority of it returned to being the Republic.
Why would the N-1 have a 1 att? And why would it be cheaper than 12 points?

Edited by Stone37Aaaaannnnnd.....So, Dark Forces and non-canon books are a good source for X-wing, but not a canon comic book?!?There is really only one reasonable response to posts like this. The N'1 Naboo Star Fighter was flown by Leia in Shattered Empire (Comic #004). It is a usable star fighter in the Rebellion Era... We have several (two) named pilots from the comics:
- Leia Organa
- Lt. Shara Bey
The answer is, like with breeding six foot tall velociraptors, always no.

Yes.

Sorry, just had to invoke anti-prequel rage without any logical reasoning behind it
That said, I really do hate the N-1, and would cringe to see it in-game.

One hull? No. A ship that is automatically oneshotted by Wampa/proton bombs/ahm is a terrible idea. I think three hull one shield seems right, they are a bit sturdier then basic ties but not by much.
Jar Jar should be a pilot for the N-1 with an ability that reads:
"When this ship is destroyed, both players immediately win the game"
So I take it you would be more in favor of the first picture only switch sides with the CIS and Scum so that Scum is the buffer between 1 st Order and separatist factions. I would agree but I wanted to put the darkside factions all on one side and since CIS was controlled by Sith through Dooku and Sidious I think they match in the first one. besides all the unification factions (Republic, Galactic Empire, 1st Order)are next to each other and the separatist factions are close to each other with CIS only being separated from the Resistance. Also using the Republic as a starting point the ships do follow the timeline as an evolution of each ship with CIS being more of an enigma (as even the Jedi didn't know what was going on).
However I see your take as rival factions based upon eras should all be at opposite side makes the most sense but with 7 factions (the current 5 sub factions + 2 from the prequels) no two factions can be at opposite ends. Add the fact that you can only ally in one direction there will be no 1 st Order ships in a Resistance Squadron nor CIS ships in a Republic Squadron. however there might be list that share allies such as Imperials and Rebels sharing Republic ships which does make sense as it is a Civil War and the Alliance was composed of senators that broke away once the Imperial Senate was dissolved. It is apparent that both sides had Republic vessels in the early stages of the Civil War.
As for technology well technology and knowledge can get lost over time, but at top are the factions that have the most resources at their disposal while the bottom are the ones that have to do the most improvising to match the might of a galactic state.

So this is the ven diagram I sort of made for the wheel showing my groupings.
As for imaging editing software I use MS paint so it shouldn't be too hard to edit.
It would be much easier to make the Republic and CIS ships able to be used by Imperial, Scum and Rebels.
I am not too sure about that. Sure older tech does get sold to whoever bid higher. Or are you talking about jsut throwing them into the primary factions. There is a problem with that in terms of primary faction grouping unless you were to rename the primary factions. For one how are CIS a part of the Imperial primary faction and not the Rebels?
Allies ruined 40k I'd hate to see that come into x-wing, factions should have strengths and weaknesses.
Only when they made Tau and Space Marines Battle Brothers . Seriously, that was stupid. As for ruining 40K there was a whole lot more than simply mixing Space Wolves with Blood Angels. The Escalation now being a part of standard format, the constant release of overly expensive and OP models. Each new codex being more powerful than previous editions and armies. The price gouging of all models, finecast, retcon, the list goes on.
As for allies well X-wing has that with the primary factions. Now of course Resistance and 1 st Order doesn't have enough ships to form their own faction so of course the logical step would be to blend them in existing factions Rebels and Imperials. But now the Rebels have become the Rebel Alliance faction and imperials have become the Galactic Empire faction. Sooner or later Resistance and 1 st Order might split making their own faction separate from Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. I mean the primary faction system could work and again the wheel is only IF FFG makes the prequel factions ( the signs still point to no ). I simply don't see CIS being Imperial. I definitely don't see Republic being Rebels, but I do see them allied with the Rebel Alliance and I can see Galactic Empire using old Republic ships as they phase them out for the TIE Fighters.
But for now the X-wing ally system is primary factions.

I think a 2 hull 2 shield ship might infringe on the A-wing's territory. Mind you, the Awing does not get a astromech, but it's base cost (with refit) is 15 points.
At 12 points, the N1 would be a cheap torpedo carrier. Guidance Chips (at 0 cost) helps insure damage. Astromechs also give the ship more diversity than the Z95. I also think there needs to be a few more general astromechs added to the game that help low ps pilots deliver ordinance.
Perhaps the TIE/FO would be the better model for the N1? It costs more than the Z95, but gains the improvements of a better dial and an astromech (and trades missile for torp).
I always envision the N-1 to be fairly similar to the Scyk personally, for whatever that's worth.

Lets not forget about the Marquis <ahem> I mean Resistance. You know that insurgent group that gets no support from the Federation <ahem> I mean Republic despite what the Cardasians <ahem> I mean 1 st Order claims. After all it wasn't the Dominion <ahem> I mean 1 st Order that started the new Galactic War.

This too was my thought. Otherwise, it ends up being a missile version of the A-wing.
I would have considered the N-1 to be a Torpedo version of the Z-95.

That's why I gave it the hull/shield distribution of an FO, also I would invision it's dial looking more like the TAP's then the A Wing except maybe removing hard threes and the five forward to emphasise it's focus on tight manoeuvring of over raw speed.
How do you post images? I finally figured out how to edit an image, now can't figure out how to put it on here.
Essentially it is like a + sign with either end longer.
Resistance: Rebellion: Republic at top, Scum in the middle, Separatists at bottom: Empire: First Order

I think Wave 9 is your best bet. It is "done" per Alex Davey in a pod cast three weeks ago, and they are just now working on wave 10. based upon the Disney deal, they would have likely been in the initital development of Wave 9 when the mouse showed up. Wave 10? Probably new stuff and cartoon fodder.
So you're completely ignoring the fact that Wave 8 is full of "new stuff and cartoon fodder"?

More than half of Wave 8 is Disney Merchandise (90% if we include all the TFA stuff)

Tell what you want, but Clone Wars Jar Jar is freaking awesome. Shame that Lucas "had to" rewrite the character for the movies based on fan reactions. Jar Jar as openly force sensitive being would have been so much better.
