Alien 3 was awesome, what the hell Para?!
Proof that Prequel ships will be in Wave 9.
Republic is the EmpireIt's Light Side, Dark Side, Other. What faction would you even put that in?
Republic goes with Rebels, Separatists go with Empire, Scum goes with Scum.
Dookoo is a Rebel to the core
Scum stay Scum! (Although to be honest, Trade Fed sounds like S&V subfaction)
Well I have though of an alliance wheel in case they have split the Resistance and 1 st Order into their own factions for adding the prequel factions but still letting Rebels take Resistance ships and 1 st Order taking Empire ships. Points spent on ally ships will be restricted based on the total points spent on the list.
![]()
Basically you can only chose one ally adjacent to your primary faction. The point cost of the ally pilot and any upgrades equipped to that ship count towards your Ally Point Limit. Ally Point Limit is based on the total point cost (ally and faction) of your squadron list.
Ally point limits are as follows
and for epic
- Less than 60 points 15 points of allies
- 60-89 points 20 points of allies
- 90-99 points 30 points of allies
- 100+ points 40 points of allies
A choice on some odd parings
- Less than 100 points ( see chart above )
- 100-149 points 40 points of allies
- 150-199 points 50 points of allies
- 200-299 points 75 points of allies and 2 epic points
- 300+ points 100 points of allies and 3 epic points
Then again for those that think that scum should be full blown mercenaries there is this alternative.
- CIS & 1 st Order So perhapse a storyline out of KOTOR as both tend to search for Sith Artifacts and may have access to lost arcane technology like Star Forge. Both operate away from core systems. After all the CIS started the plans for the Death Star. Who knows what else they had.
- Resistance and Scum and CIS: Well since both are lightly armed insurgents (the Rebel Alliance was well equipped at their time gaining allot of hardware from republic sympathizers) Having those two factions being forced to have dealings with the shadier folks of the Galaxy seems fitting.

Just go play Warhammer 40k conquest.
Allies ruined 40k I'd hate to see that come into x-wing, factions should have strengths and weaknesses.
I personally like the idea of the N1 Starfighter finding a home in X-wing. We've seen it in the new Marvel comic books and it gives Leia a ship to pilot. It's time to give our favorite @$$ kicking Disney princess her own ship!
I wouldn't mind that one ship to be released in the game. It could be something like this:The N'1 Naboo Star Fighter was flown by Leia in Shattered Empire (Comic #004). It is a usable star fighter in the Rebellion Era... We have several (two) named pilots from the comics:
- Leia Organa
- Lt. Shara Bey
(and a very "tricky" dial)
PS: there is Queen Sosha Soruna as pilot too.
PPS: the "pointy" things on the mini, however, would easily break.
Dear god no, Leia in a Y-wing or bust!
When did Leia fly a Y Wing?
First in the Splinter of the Mind's Eye (published soon after A New Hope in '78 and which almost became Episode V) and in the comic books, amongst other places. It's what she's traditionally flown.
I like the N1 design and I like Alien 3 (for the most part). If you are going to bring in the N1, you may as well do the Jedi Starfighter too. If you do the Jedi Starfighter, no generic ships. All unique Jedi pilots.
Here is the first Jedi Starfighter pilots I propose:
Obi Wan Kenobi: PS 1, "before you reveal your maneuver dial you must utter the phrase "I hate flying."
Anakin Skywalker: PS 9, use Vader's ability from the TIE Advanced
I don't know what's worse, the prequels or Alien 3. "HEY GUYS WE KILLED OFF ALL THE CHARACTERS YOU LOVED IMMEDIATELY AND SENT THE LONE SURVIVOR TO AN ALL MALE CONCRETE PRISON PLANET. WATCH ELLEN RIPLEY BE SUPER SAD AND BORED AND ALMOST RAPED FOR AN ENTIRE MOVIE AS THEY ATTEMPT TO FIGHT OFF A SINGLE XENOMORPH WITH NO WEAPONS JUST LIKE IN THE FIRST MOVIE. WHAT A GREAT IDEA FOR A SEQUEL."
You wash your mouth out with soap young man.
Alien 3 is actually a really good movie hidden inside really bad editing done by the studio (Fox). I understand that people were upset about the deaths of Newt and Hicks, but that aside, Alien 3 delivers really strong themes of redemption and sacrifice and had really strong performances from Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) and Charles S Dutton, as well as from Weaver herself. Plus, it was directed by David Fincher, of Se7en and Fight Club fame. Fox came in and chopped out 33 minutes of it (restored in the Assembly Cut special edition), trying to turn it into an action movie, which literally causes some characters to disappear (their deaths were edited out) and eliminated an entire plot thread, and, worst of all, changing the entire ending. If you look at what David Fincher actually made before he left the film in disgust, it's actually a really, really well made film that stands on par with the original, and best, film in the trilogy.
At the end of Fincher's Alien 3, Ripley has the chance to go back with the company, but jumps into the lead to kill the creature. In the theatrical version, she jumps into the lead just as the creature is born (Fox insisted on the birthing scene). Except that changes the entire meaning of Ripley's suicide from "I could live, but instead I'm going to sacrifice myself to make sure this ends here" to "Screw you guys. You guys can't have the alien."
If we're going to disparage Alien films, let's at least choose one that deserves it. Like that garbage Resurrection, or the vs Predator films.
The N'1 Naboo Star Fighter was flown by Leia in Shattered Empire (Comic #004). It is a usable star fighter in the Rebellion Era... We have several (two) named pilots from the comics:
- Leia Organa
- Lt. Shara Bey
There is really only one reasonable response to posts like this.
The answer is, like with breeding six foot tall velociraptors, always no.

So, Dark Forces and non-canon books are a good source for X-wing, but not a canon comic book?!?
Pls no N-1. No N-1 or Twilight.
Most of the other stuff is passable.

Aaaaannnnnd.....
This amazing and fun game will get very boring and slow if they bring in Prequel ships. Z-wings and Tie fighters already have a low cost of 12, meaning 8 of them can be brought to a match. Prequels will bring even lower cost Droid Vulture's and Tri Fighters and N-1! A swarm of 8 is fun to see, but a swarm of 10+; I will fall asleep while you are setting your dials. Then you would have grossly overpriced ARC-170's and an endless debate over which Jedi fighter should get created.
Prequels will bring even lower cost Droid Vulture's and Tri Fighters and N-1!
FFG has been quite clear that 12 is the lowest cost of a ship in this game. They will never have a ship that costs less.

They've also stated they are not interested in prequel ships. The N-1 is no longer a prequel ship. A cheap torpedo carrier with an astromech would make for an interesting ship. It would be something between the A-wing and the Z-wing. We have two named Civil War era pilots (thanks to Shattered Empire) for the ship, and there is a big push of ordinance now.
Edited by Stone37It's time to give our favorite @$$ kicking Disney princess her own ship!
I love Leia. I want her to pilot a ship. I wish her crew card were better.
But my favorite Disney Princess is Thor.

First:
Great post. 11/10. Would be trolled again.
Second:
I rather like the N1, though I think it is much better suited as a ground fighter with spacegoing capabilities. In that sense, it's the inverse of a TIE Fighter.
"Cheap Torpedo carrier" is a design space the Rebel faction doesn't really have yet, so I'd think there is some design space to work with. I'd give it 1 Torpedo slot and a 1 attack. And a pair of titles: 1 title adding an extra attack, and one title being the functional equivalent of Extra Munitions- but at 1 point. Both titles would let it acquire a target lock on a ship that an ally at range 1 has acquired a target lock on.
The N1 should have a lot of slow green- maybe enough to make the R2 redundant! But very few manuvers faster than 2. And most of those red.
Third: I want the V-19 Torrent starfighter so very badly.
The ships from new wars (T70) are far lamer designs. (the T70 is such a lazy design)
Only in the sense that they are the original design for the 1977 X-Wing. I rather like that they've been brought back.
Alien 3 was awesome, what the hell Para?!
.... Alien 3 was awful, the prequels may have had their flaws but a great number of people enjoy them, they just aren't as obnoxiously loud as the haters.
Regardless I think that trying to add prequel era factions is a mistake as they don't line up like the sequel era ones do. However that does not rule out ships like this which were used by the Rebellion, including some very well known Rebel characters.

After listening to the excellent novelization of Aliens in audiobook form a few times and then watching the movie again recently, I can safely say I would not be able to make it through the opening without ragequitting.
I'll check and see if I have the Assembly Cut. I take it that it's not on Laserdisc, my preferred format for watching films, guess I'll have to settle for DVD.
"HICKS AND NEWT ARE DEAD" *vuvuzela horn blares at you*
What faction would you even put that in?
It's Light Side, Dark Side, Other.

NO! the republic turns INTO THE EMPIRE!!
NO! the republic turns INTO THE EMPIRE!!

Why would the N-1 have a 1 att? And why would it be cheaper than 12 points?
Att 2
Agi 2
Hull 3
Sheild 2
Torp, Astro

1: my statement was not really an absolute
2: that is an absolute!
NO! the republic turns INTO THE EMPIRE!!
So? The Empire also turns back into the Republic. Does that mean Rebel ships should also be in the Empire?
What matters is what side they were on when they were actually using those ships.
