PLEASE HELP! Need Scum list support. Seriously.

By Cloaker, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Looking to represent scum at the highest levels but need something besides Brobots & 3JM5K & typical meta. Getting ImpAced and RebRegen'ed out of competitiveness. ( I wish my friend crew would just play casual fun but everyone has gone uber meta) need support ideas to counter following builds;

Vs. Fat Han & Miranda

Vs. Miranda & Poe

Vs. Decimator Ocunn & Whisper/Soonter

Is YV-666 just a lost cause? I had a stationary platform build that I feel is close to being productive--Moralo chooses 0 red (with faceup card synergies) and Palob doughnuts him and Wingmans it off, with Ionization setting up damage from Dace and immobilizing for next round Mango shot.

Moralo Eval — YV-666 34 "Mangler" Cannon 4 Gunner 5 Greedo 1 Boba Fett 1 Ship Total: 45

Palob Godalhi — HWK-290 20 Wingman 2 Ion Cannon Turret 5 Ship Total: 27

Dace Bonearm — HWK-290 23 Ion Cannon Turret 5 Ship Total: 28

Really want to see that scum are viable vs. other factions beyond the same 3-4 lineups. Maybe dual Firesprays are the answer? The rebel regen is so hard to beat, feels like it just ruins the game.

All help is appreciated.

It only just occurred to me that Moralo Eval is yet another Clone Wars exclusive character turned into an X-Wing card. Huh...

I gave it a shot at writing a list and came up with this.

https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum%20and%20Villainy&d=v4!s!120:57,120,-1,-1,-1:-1:-1:;132:110,-1,114,177,-1,-1:-1:-1:;124:54,0,-1,-1:-1:-1:&sn=Unnamed%20Squadron

Having played against Kavil, he's pretty good at taking out aces if you can get him the right position. A chance at 3 un-evadeable damage is great for taking out aces like Soontir who only have three hull - didn't really know what else to add to it from there! Everything else is fairly bare-bones.

I have done well against those lists with:

-5 Bugzappers and Mux

-Talonbane w/engine, CD, PTL, Gand Findsman w/title, decoy, 4-LOM, Guri w/bodyguard or calculation and AT

-Serrisu with SD, TB, Mindlink, and 3X TPV with mindlink and mangler cannons

-Guri w/AT, calculation, Drea Renthal w/TLT, unhinged, and Xizor w/VI, title, FCS, AT

I've been trying as well. I came up with this as an alternative to triple toilet seats.
Contracted Scout (25)Deadeye (1)Proton Torpedoes (4)Extra Munitions (2)Boba Fett (1)R4 Agromech (2)Guidance Chips (0)

Drea Renthal (22)Plasma Torpedoes (3)Extra Munitions (2)R4-B11 (3)Guidance Chips (0)

Zuckuss (28)Juke (2)4-LOM (1) Sensor Jammer (4)

Total: 100

I call it "no mods for you"

by the way, how are you guys doing links? New to this forum.

YV-666 with Mangler Cannon, Boba Fett, and Greedo seems the best way to reliably trigger Boba's ability if needed; I don't think I'd go with more than the basic Trandoshan Slaver because you need him to take his shot AFTER higher PS have stripped shields from enemy ships. No other Scum ship has more than 1 crew slot so it seems good for reliable Boba.

A single Plasma Torp Jumpmaster is a good damage dealer to down shields for the YV.

That leaves 32 points - the exact amount that Scum LACK a good Ace for. GRARGH!

N'dru with Lone Wolf, Clusters, Glitterstim, Guidance Chips is 25. I've got it!

39 Trandoshan Slaver with Mangler Cannon, Greedo, Boba Fett, Gonk, Feedback Array

36 Contracted Scout w/ Deadeye, Extra Munitions, Plasma Torpedoes, Intelligence Agent, R4 Agromech, Feedback Array, Guidance Chips

25 N'dru with Lone Wolf, Clusters, Glitterstim, Guidance Chips

Gonk is there to help protect against Greedo's downside; Gonk a few times on your way in. The Feedbacks let you deal with arc dodging aces more easily, with the Agent letting you guide their use more easily.

the best part is, all three ships are a threat; who does he shoot first? N'dru and Contracted Scout if piloted well can kill one U-Boat in a single round; it'll mean setting up so that N'dru is far enough way to trigger his abilities while still teaming up with your own U-Boat.

It can handle arc-dodgy palpaces by either erasing the aces with Feedback or targeting Palpatine. It has peak damage to ruin regen and TLT. Maybe upgrade the Contracted Scout to the next highest pilot to fire before U-boats?

Anyway, sleep time now.

YV-666 was the biggest winner in Wave 8, lots of choices with new crew cards. But the Slaver is still the ideal template for squads with the orange cow.

Standard Slaver: Trandoshan Slaver (29)

  • Bossk (2)
  • Tactician (2)
  • Gunner (5)

= 38 pts

Tried-and-true, heavy and accurate hitter, with a tack of control imbued.

Mod-free Slaver: Trandoshan Slaver (29)

  • 4-LOM (1)
  • Outlaw Tech (2)
  • Dengar (3)

= 35 pts

Full mods even on a full-stop. Cheaper, still accurate, trades control for movement freedom. 4-LOM helps get the damage through has a much softer downside on large ships but you can replace it with anything, really, Outlaw/Dengar combo is the meat here.

Mod-free Moralo: Moralo Eval (34)

  • Mangler Cannon (4)
  • Boba Fett (1)
  • Outlaw Tech (2)
  • Dengar (3)

= 44 pts

Borrows the above template to make Moralo probably the most effective Boba carrier without compromising overall effectiveness. The downside is costing almost 10 pts more.

You can really mix and match, create combos and make the YV-666 a general powerhouse. It's up to anyone to figure out how it will work on wave 8.

YV is not a lost cause, just not the easiest ship to fly with its inability to K-turn. Picked up wave 8 and ran this at the weekend:

Lattz Razzi - 33

Gunner - 5

Bossk - 2

4-LOM - 1

Inertial Dampeners - 1

Total 42

Shoot, miss, Bossk, and then you can spend the lock to drop their agility and/or 4-LOM to freeze a token on the second shot.

Don't expect to take actions or red maneuvers.

Maybe go with the R4 Agromech on Kavil. Since you have to spend the focus on the Blaster Turret anyway.

Kavil (24)

Pred (3)

Auto Blaster (2)

Unhinged (1)

Manaroo (27)

Mindlink (1)

Intell Agent (1)

Unhinged (1)

Pursuit Laser (2)

Guri (30)

Mindlink (1)

VIrago (1)

Adv Sensors (3)

AT (2)

Total 99

Vs. Fat Han & Miranda

Vs. Miranda & Poe

Vs. Decimator Ocunn & Whisper/Soonter

I have good results using this list:

IG-B with HLC, FCS, AT, Tractor, and VI

Mux with TLT

Thug with TLT and Agromech

thats a good list

late contribution but I came up with these two YVs and I think they have some potential.

Bossk-Wired, Dengar, Zuckuss+4-LOM, Inertial Dampeners

Morallo kitted the same but with HLC and no wired.

I ran the Morallo, and I'm honestly not sure which would be more effective. The Bossk is cheaper with more reliable dice, but his attacks aren't as potent outside of arc in range 2+, the morallo is more reliably able to get stronger attacks in his side arc, so it depends on what you're facing really I suppose. But I build the Morallo for hunting aces and the HLC 180 arc helped with that immensely. When you really open up and just make the opponent reroll all his dice it can really make aces cringe. I feel like the big key is timing your ions so that you don't get ioned when things are behind you.

So I've been watching my acquaintance fly Super Dengar, and it strikes me that the YV-666 with Boba, Greedo, and Gonk would go well with it.

Dengar (56)

Jumpmaster 5k (33), Push the Limit (3), K4 Security Droid (3), Unhinged Astromech (3), Punishing One (12), Engine Upgrade (4)

Bossk (44)

YV-666 (35), Predator (3), Greedo (1), Boba Fett (1), Gonk (2), Glitterstim (2)

Seems like it could be good. Predator, Greedo, and Glitterstim on Bossk lets him stay fairly action independent for dealing damage, letting him keep on Gonkin' on. Super Dengar is Super Dengar. Maybe call the list Super Dengar and Bossk-Boy.

Alternately, drop the Glitterstim for an init bid against Soontir for purposes of Dengar. I don't think Soontir would like to be faced with a regular attack AND a counterattack from Dengar...
