If you were a pilot in X-Wing, what would you fly, and what would your ability be?

PS 7- I'm (he's) more of a strategist than a pilot

Tie interceptor (chiss claw craft if it's ever released)

At the start of the activation phase choose one enemy ship anywhere in the play area and guess a manuever outloud. When that ship executes a manuver, if it's the one you guessed you may add one attack die or add one defense die when attacking or defending against that ship this round.

I would make it a simple buff and lose the "against that ship" bit. Thrawn could look at a culture's artwork and figure out their battle plans, so using one ship's maneuver to figure out another's strategy doesn't seem like a stretch.

That would also make the entire board range more usefyl so he doesn't have to be nearby, good idea.

I would also price in an interceptor at 24 pts. The ability is powerful but an opponent can easily be unpredictable or use any of several manuevers to get to the same gwnral place. Though even if the extra dice doesn't trigger your still forcing your opponent to take a suboptimal move.

As much as I would love to say I'd be flying an X-Wing or an ARC-170, I have to be honest with myself:

BAT-72 (unique)

(Cannon, Crew, Astromech upgrade slots)

Pilot Ability would read:

"When another friendly ship at range 1 resolves a face-up damage card, you MUST immediately drop everything you were doing, discard that damage card to fix their problem, then receive one stress token."

I would also come in a crew card that reads:

BAT-72 (he would look like a cross between a WAC-47 and the "Ace" pilot droid in the current Star Tours)

"The First round after being assigned a stress token, you may still perform actions as normal, because SOMEONE has to get some work done around here."

The wording might need some tweaking. And yes, I do work in IT, why do you ask?

(X-Wing)

When attacking or defending, if you are stressed, you may add 1 more stress token to your ship to add 1 critical hit result or 1 evade result to your dice. If you reach or exceed 5 stress tokens assigned to your ship, remove your ship from the play area.

Combos superbly with Intel Agent on another ship...

So I'm on of those Moldy Crow fans, always complaining how the HWK-290 isn't as good as it should be...

Here's my take on it!

Rostbaerdt_HWK_290.png

The surprise here is that it's primary weapon is an ION TURRET!

So yeah, I've got a 4 dice / 360 attack, BUT it's an ion attack, that even with my ability can only do max 2 damage. (what is cool offcourse is that I only need 1 hit to get through to get 2 damage on you!)

I guess I can also make the secondary weapon rules apply here, so no extra dice!

Offcourse I made the stats match the fact that this is a Heavy Fighter/Recon Ship and not a freighter!

Here's the dial:

An actual usuable dial! none of that current HWK-290 BS ;)
