Introducing RingsDB, a new deck builder based on NetrunnerDB and ThronesDB

By Sydtrack, in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game

I made some updates on mobile browsing, specially on Deck Builder:

  • No more double clicking to change filters
  • Performance optimizations
  • Better layout

Hope you like it.

I really like the bigger buttons for the number of cards to put in the deck. Thanks so much Sydtrack.

How exactly works search among decklist by author name? Search engine does not show me all decks from specific author.

OK. It works fine now. Maybe problem with the web browser.

Are you building a web log? Oh man!!! I really love you....

I know! You are a maiar!!! Isn't? Some kinda of maiar perhaps?

Sydtrack thank you!

You are a god!

Killer feature right there.

I don't understand what this is referring to. What exactly did you need to double-click before?

Feature request: Sort (and maybe filter) decklist search results based on starting threat.

For future reference, should we put stuff like this on the Github, or do you want to keep that just for bug fixes?

This resource is absolutely fantastic. Masterful job. It's really what the community has needed.

Great idea! I just updated RingsDB to include it, please test and message me if any problem arises.

Posting to GitHub helps me remember some enhancements that I will not be able to implement right away. Feel free to post any suggestions there!

I'm just curious, what is the criteria for the 4 decks that are shown on the front page?

Good question!

I'm just curious, what is the criteria for the 4 decks that are shown on the front page?

The top deck by predominant sphere ranked by popularity.

The predominant sphere for a deck is selected by simple counting the number of cards from each sphere and taking the higher one.

Popularity is based on number of likes divided by the square of the time since publishing.

Another good idea for a feature would be having the option to list decks as solo, co-op questing, or co-op combat...and then make it searchable.

I'm constantly looking for decks designed specifically for those qualities (i.e. I have a good combat deck, would like to look at a list of questing decks to select a pair...that type of thing).

Can you maybe add another slot to choose a second trait in card search?

For example right now i can only select one trait, but if i wanted to find a card with Gondor and Ranger traits i can only search 1 trait. So if i wanted to build a thematic deck with Rangers of Ithilien and i use the Ranger option, then i would also get Dunedain Rangers as well.

Not really necessary, just kind of annoying when theres a mix of cards that you want and dont want.

You can do this today, actually, just by including both traits seperately: "k:gondor k:ranger"

I wish we had a system of traits for decks. This could be an option that the builder selects like "monolore", "solo", "questing", etc.

To then be able to search decks with these criteria would be amazing. It would just require users to update their old decks already published.

The one thing I haven't seen anywhere yet is being able to search deck by function or archetype.

One thing I find is that when I'm finished with a search of cards in the deckbuilder, I can't just delete the search parameters and have the full card list again. I have to reload the page.

Sorry, I couldn't reproduce this. What browser are you using?

I will add something like this in the future. For now, I am focusing on getting the quest log feature ready.

I didn't, but people who make websites often don't get how annoying extra taps are for mobile users ;)
