3b + what?

By namdoolb, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I'm a relatively new player as far as the game goes, but I'm getting to the stage where I have enough experience under my belt to know what I like playing.

know that the general consensus on b-wings is that they are a little ill-positioned right now, but what can I do? They are by far my favourite ship, and the one that I am most at home piloting.

I am set at the moment to run at least 3 b-wings, blue sq pilots of course. And I am looking at potential ideas to fill out the remaining 34 points.

I have most of the rebel expansions (at least one copy) just missing the ghost, and I have most wanted plus the mist hunter. I've stayed away from buying any imperial expansions this far, but I'm not averse to spending a little in the name of putting a good list together.

So, what goes with 3 b-wings? I'm open to pretty much any sensible suggestion, and the ones I like I'll try out.

(just as a note, I'm already aware of 4bz. I've tried it and it's good. But I want to explore other options as well.)

For 3 Bwing i suggest:

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire-Control System (2)
Ion Cannon (3)
Gunner (5)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire-Control System (2)
Ion Cannon (3)
Gunner (5)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire-Control System (2)
Ion Cannon (3)
Gunner (5)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Total: 99
Simple and lethal.

You could add Wes Jason with VI,R2D2,and integrated astromech to strip tokens from your B-wings' targets

3 B wings and then throw a K wing with TLT in there for a little spice.

Jake Farrell, A wing Test Pilot, Proton Rockets, Veteran Instincts, Push the Limit, Autothrusters. 33 points

He's a solid addition and will help your learning curve flying a very maneuverable ace. Also leaves 1 point for a possible initiative bid.

Jan Sings the Blues

HWK-290: · Jan Ors (25)

Swarm Tactics (2)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

-- TOTAL ------- 99/100p. --

Jan swarm tactics one of them to shoot at ps8 with her and gives them a bonus attack die. Keep her skirting around in the distance so she doesn't get pounded.

Luke's Blues

X-Wing: · Luke Skywalker (28)

· Lone Wolf (2)

· R2-D2 (4)

Integrated Astromech (0)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

Luke is your flanker and with Lone Wolf keep him out of the main fight. You want him to be your closer and with his defensive ability and R2-D2, to make it to end game so he can clean up.

Wedge's Blues

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

X-Wing: · Wedge Antilles (29)

Push The Limit (3)

· BB-8 (2)

Integrated Astromech (0)

-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

Keep Wedge with the pack and try to focus fire without Wedge getting focused too hard. They will try to gun for him so use BB-8 to arc dodge and get your PTL action off the barrel roll, then do green maneuver to clear stress and do your other action.

I love b-wings too, all these lists I've had a while. Happy jousting.

3 FCS Blue

Biggs with IA and R5P9

There's some very interesting lists there.

definitely enough there to keep me testing different lists for a good few weeks.

Thank you to everyone who's just put lists forward.

You can try a y-wing stesshog with 3 fcs b-wings. You van also try miranda donnie.

If you want to add a fourth B, I've run:

Dagger

Dagger

Dagger w/Intelligence Agent

Dagger w/Intelligence Agent

Run the Bs in pairs of two, with an IA B paired with a non-IA B, but with the two pairs not more than range two apart.

Hopefully both IAs will give you a little head's up on where the higher PS ships are going to end up, and the two pairs are close enough to support each other.

In my area, PS1 and 2 ships sometimes get eliminated before they even get the chance to shoot. We tend to see a lot of PS4 and higher ships. If that is not as much of a concern in your area, and you can afford to run the Blues, then I might suggest adding a Y with a TLT.
